Best Year for G35 under $15k?

I'm interested in getting a G35. What's the best year for a G35 or should I get a G37?

Should I get a coupe or a sedan? I want a manual transmission or would an automatic be fine?

I want to twin-turbo it. What's the most HP I can accomplish from it?

LOL.

You can get a 2003/2004 Sedan or coupe with 100k +miles
Unless you can come up with another 10-15k you aren't getting a G37
Good luck finding a 6mt under 15k they are rare as it is.
Getting ur car twin turbo'd includes a lot of work and will cost you 6-10k and power will range from 320whp-600whp depends on the turbo's and the tune.

Is a 2006 a better model for the G35? Most likely, not a G37. I don't think it's worth the extra money.

Is there a big difference in driving wise between the Sedan and Coupe? I definitely, like the sedan for more space. Is their a big difference if driving on a track? I definitely, want to take the car to the track.

I don't mind spending over $15k if it's worth it. Do the sedan's have a MT or is it just AT?

I can understand the year thing, but why are you asking coupe/sedan and auto/manual?

Get what you want...

Sedan weighs less and has the same power as the coupe, in the end it's what you need, 2 doors and 4 seats or 4 doors and 5 seats. An automatic or a manual? Both the coupe and sedan comes in a 6mt, and you won't find a 06 for under 15k

I thought the previous versions of G35. The sedan has less Hp than the Coupe. I'm probably more leaning towards the G35 Sedan MT.

http://www.edmunds.com/infiniti/g35/2006/ Says the base price is $13-$14k.

I see a few going for $15k-$19k on craigslist.

Does it matter if the car has over 100k miles? or should I try and get one with lower miles?

That was a sales gimmick, they have the same exact engine, they have the same power. And like any other car 100k miles is not a good thing. Things start to break in these cars are 75k or so miles, suspension parts like to wear out at around 60k on these cars and little electrical issues like to show up around 60-100k. Door locks go out, window motors go out etc.

Best bang for buck would be an 03-04, get it about $7k-$9k, it will most likely have 100k+ miles but that's ok since your going TT. Since you're adding a TT setup, you will need to rebuild the engine at some point so mileage isn't really a factor to consider. Look for a G in decent shape without worrying about the motor since it will most likely blow up at some point forcing you to either swap or rebuild.

My 03 sedan has been reliable, we bought it with 90k miles and it now has 135k on it. Only things I have replaced are the belts, hoses, brakes, and the bearings in both the belt tensioners. Had to tighten some loose bolts that holds the driver side window regulator on and adjust the hood latch to fix a squeak, one of the passenger seat buttons is finicky but other than that it has been a really sound car.

100k miles does not just mean the engine is only thing to worry about. All the bushings and suspension components are worn out, electronics like window regulator and AC/Radio control start crapping out. Fluids and belts need to be replaced along with tires and brakes. I would inspect vehicle thoroughly and be ready to spend an extra $1500-$2000 in getting a vehicle that is in much better shape and will save you tons of $$$$ and time in the future.

Which is why I mentioned looking for one in decent shape without worrying about the mileage so much, going TT he's already going to dump $15k+ into that car. Not to mention the labor and other modifications such as coils, various control/ camber arms, brakes, wheels, tires, and body work because I doubt he will keep the stock look.
