well without any tuning he's probably making 200torques and around 230hp. Civics are about 600 pounds lighter though, so it may be a close race. Try to see if you can take it to a muffler shop to gut your cats and mufflers. I'm not sure if there are any chips for the vq's but with a chip, I think you got him beat no question. Or else you'll be looking at his taillights the whole race. I had my bolt-on 8th gen si for about 2 years and I never lost to a single one of the local g35's that were at the weekly walmart meets. All this talk about beating g35's makes me wanna trade mine in and pick an NBP si again, boy do I miss that car and the 8thgen community, lots of smart guys and made great friends there

Good luck!

you should take a peek at 8thgen and see what kind of numbers they are putting out...i'm a mod on 8thgen so pm me if you have any questions. To be honest you should just make your g a show car or a drift car. You really can't make it fast in a straight line as easy as you can with a civic. Youre setting yourself up for an embarrassment here unless you get your car modded before the race.

when is your race? we need some knowledgeable g35 guys to chime in here because this guy you could use some advice to avoid embarrassment.

How about a G35 Coupe (Intake and True Dual Exhaust) VS a VW GTI (6 cylinder, intake, exhaust) ?

I think the VR6 GTI has 200 HP stock

have you ever raced an si before, I raced one that was modded like yours, he had a CAI and he kept up till 4 gear, after that I pulled on him since I was in vtec after every upshift.

I bet you think your ground kit gives you extra horsepowers too huh?

I get 0-60in 6.4 sec and 14.89 for the 1/4 with the civic.

How is even a stock automatic G35 not going to best that?

Made me LOL .... That is what I figured. Also, a friend of mine with a 1.8T GTI w/ numerous bolt-ons and a chip/tune says he'll beat me and I just laughed...

Our cars may be heavy but they have some serious power. I just wish Infiniti gave the G35's 300 HP stock.

As for the G35 v. Civic.... G35 will win without a doubt.

psh, you ever lined up with a i/h/e si? I wish I could come out to race you as i'm somewhat close to you. About an hour away, but I still have some friends on 8thgen that'd love to show you whats good since you like making absurd claims. The fact of the matter is that a bolted si will walk a stock g35 any day. Why don't you put your money where your mouth is?

I also forgot to add an important thing. Si's are 6MT. So are our Gs. The gear ratios between the 2 cars are pretty similar and close. except one thing: the final drive. We have a 3.5 final drive. TheCivic Si's? I believe they have 4.7 final drive ratio. this means massive torque multiplication.

this might be off topic a little but some JDM RSXs and Civics from famous tuners like Js racing, Spoon, etc, have final drives as big as 5.1.

massive torque multiplication, lol wut?

any of you guys wanna race, pm me...I have my 8thgen buddies waiting for a race. I've beaten plenty of stock and modded g35's in my days of being a mod on 8thgen. Like I said, we were out there every weekend and the G's just kept getting beat week in and week out.
