How long can you use the donut spare tire for?

I'm kind of stuck in a dumb situation. Recently one of my wheels started cracking all over pretty badly or I'm not sure maybe they were already cracking when I got them, but I was just too dumb to notice it. I haven't hit anything.. huge pothole or anything like that.

Anyways... I'm using the spare tire right now and was wondering how long is it safe to be using it? I'll only be driving it local and under 50 mph course.

Might have to wait maybe up to a month for the wheels that I want to come into stock so I'm not sure what I should do right now.

Might be a good idea to look on craigslist and see if you can pick up an extra wheel/tire for pretty cheap. You really don't want to be riding around on the spare.....it's far from safe.

One of my worst nights ever....=o(

Last time I used a donut spare was on my last Z, my Goodyear's were cracking on the inside and I was at a concert in the OC. All the way home at 60 MPH on the 5 dodging semis trying not to get in the way....nightmare! My donut sidewall had printed on it not over 55 mph and life span was 100 miles which I used half in one night....Gary

That sounds like a ton of abuse hahaha. I haven't been over 50 mph at all and i've been like taking things pretty slow, but I doubt the 100 mile lifespan will be enough.. dsl;fkjs idk what to do lol. I'm looking around, but I can't find much.

If someone had a 17 inch wheel with a tire I could borrow/buy that'd be nice but I doubt it hmmm

EDIT:

actually some guy is selling one with a tire for like $95 i guess I'll pick that up since I really need it

Good idea P^^

I need to find a coupe 18 for a spare since my donut won't fit over my Wilwoods even with a 15mm spacer.

go pick up a steel rim and used tire from local Used Tires place and rock it till you get your wheel back.

You don't wanna end up with blown spare and damage your car even further

I wouldn't roll around on a spare for very long. 100 miles is still quite a bit of distance, but you shouldn't plan on driving on a spare for more than that.

I think the rule of thumb is your supposed to only use your spare to get u to a tire place to get it fixed..
