What did you do to the G today?

Started researching into what all is involved to ensure a functional SRS with aftermarket seats installed on a 2006 G35 coupe.
From what I've read, tricking the system into thinking there are seat airbags installed is pretty straight forward, utilizing 2.2 ohm, 1/2 watt resistors on each seats respected connector. (Plastered all over the web and this site)
The passenger side is where it gets somewhat involved.
After taking a look underneath, there is a passenger occupancy ECU/module mounted to the right inside frame of your OEM passenger seat.
This module receives, from what I can tell, a signal from a pressure transducer that is linked to a pressure sensing mat that resembles a more robust and fancy, interconnected bubble wrap sheet.
This is the system that activates the passenger side airbag(s) and turns on/off the "passenger airbag off" light.
Incorporating this system into the aftermarket passenger seat doesn't seem too complicated.
It is however a different style system than a G37 or 370z.
I can do a more thorough write-up with pictures in a dedicated thread if anyone would like and or if it hasn't been done already.
Let me know.
Anyways, I have to drill the Sparco brackets to the width of the seat rails. (No big deal)
Also, the passenger side seat bracket only comes in one height and its TALL... I can't tilt the seat forward fully to access the back seat as it hits the headliner. (sunroof model, so that doesn't help any) I'm 6' and my hair grazes the headliner in some positions.
Shouldn't be an issue with the driver side as I order the low option.

Yes, please do the write up. Definitely needed. As I mentioned, the Buddy Club low rose seat rails seem to be the option for the lowest position and I believe are adjustable to a number of heights.
Looking forward to your project. This will inspire me to tackle this next spring!
Thanks in advance.

Will do and no problem.
I believe the BC brackets are designed for side mount buckets if I'm not mistaken; or are people modifying them to run on bottom mounts?

Just spoke with Jose with Ionic Dynamics. Ordered a Gialla style grill and their eyelids painted liquid platinum to match.
If the fitment is like their rear diffuser, there shouldn’t be any problems at all. It was bang on...
The grille should allow more air flow, especially to my aftermarket power steering cooler. (Trans cooler)
Be a little bit of a lead time, but I’ll be sure to post some pics when they come in and once installed.
No headway on the seats, but I got the resistors in as well as some small electronic project boxes.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
Now if you could replace the metra finisher with a JDM your interior would look amazing. It's too bad Scoshe doesn't make one for 05-07 coupes yet, theirs looks great as well.

The JDM DD trim is pricey, but it looks so good!

Looks good! What did that cost? My '04 isn't too bad compared to others I've seen, but I wouldn't mind replacing it. Too bad I became lax with my Lexol conditioning.

I was thinking about going with a G37 wheel. You can get them reasonably cheap too and the controls can be wired to work but the cost of the airbag is too far a stretch for the budget.
