Paint was pretty thrashed, washed twice with ONR because it was filthy from sitting in the shop getting the tranny removed 4 separate times (measurements for another project that turned into me accidentally flipping the TO bearing spring and scratching my head trying to figure out why my clutch pedal wasn't coming back up), Optimum hyper compound, another wash, hyper polish, another wash..., Opti-Seal.
My arms and back are sore. BTW just so I don't get anymore random calls from people panicking about the hyper compound, YES it will make your paint look like it's been sanded with 5000 grit sandpaper, this stuff is aggressive and you MUST wash it then use the hyper polish to remove the swirl. Use it only on the places that need that kind of work.

I managed to score a set of new OEM mud spats. Front only unfortunately; they didn't have the rears in silver. I may have to resort to used ones.
Also on Friday I dropped off my OEM 18"s to be refinished. I found a place that seems to be able to match Hyper Silver. We'll see how they turn out, but I'm fairly confident since I've seen pics of other Infiniti wheels they've done.

Well I haven't posted anything in some time, but had some progress so why not share a few snips.
Since it's track season, my carbon fiber sway bar is a bit on hold. It needs a few more layers, but other things are a priority, like new brake lines, bleeding said lines, more brackets for the front end, brake pad shims, etc.:
old stoptech brake lines had to go, they looked like absolute garbage after only 3 years. Goodridge phantom lines are in. These use stainless steel fittings instead of the zinc coated stoptech garbage. Should last longer.
While at it I installed some titanium brake shims for both the front and rear, which will hopefully keep the brakes a bit cooler and more importantly my calipers looking bright green:
absolutely love this color and really hoping they stay green after the first track day of the season
Next I finally remade the ugly brackets I had for mounting the sides of my splitter. I bought a 3d printer to make this happen and it opens up soooo many possibilities including printing the molds. So this turned out absolutely awesome
Next project is to make new inlet ducts and its in progress. Hopefully I can make at least a 3d printed version before my track day on May 10th:
Still struggling to make the connection flange the correct shape, but almost there:

Very nice, glad others are still doing good things to these vs ragging them out.
What shims did you go with? Have new pads to install for track season also. It has Akebono BBK.
Basically gave my old G to my daughter and plan on signing her up for a HPDE in June. The pads now are purely street, so going to show her how to flush fluid and swap pads.

Just installed the Z1 plenum spacer.
took an hour and a half for me and the insides of the plenum and throttle body were very clean.
hit the rev limiter a couple of times, sounds slightly louder, runs great.
next up fast intentions resonated HFC’s after a 3 month wait.
2 more months to go and hoping there worth it.

Picked up my re-finished OEM wheels.
I'm pleased with the color match, although I don't have an original finish to compare to but they look spot on. No more curb rash on the fronts. :-) BTW, that's dust on the rim of the wheel in the upper left and not scratches. For some reason the shop couldn't be bothered to cover them after they were done.

i recharged the AC and my car starts overheating. i still have coolant and everything. radiator and thermostat are fairly new, i replaced them in january... read on a forum (afterwards) that i shouldn't use anything that says "stops leaks" and the product i used did say that... do you guys think that's the issue??
