Tire Noise - Help!

So I had my tires installed on a new set of wheels a few weeks ago. The tires have about 20,000 miles on them and are not evenly worn. The installer told me after he was done that he flipped the tires (inner sidewall to outer), to help even out the wear.

Sounded good to me to extend the tire life. He said that it may be a little rough for a while. Its really a lot worse than I though...I get bad vibration and noise anything above 60mph.

What can I do to fix this? I really hate the way it's driving. Should I take it back in and get them flipped back? Or I was even considering just doing a bunch of burnouts to get the tires even. Thats prob a stupid plan though! Help please!

Id probably take em back and have them flipped back around just so i knew that was the problem for sure. But doin a few burnouts would be fun and worth a try haha. But in all reality having them flipped back around would assure you that was the problem. idk about you but i just like knowing everything is in perfect running order.

Ask the installer to check the balance again, you shouldn't be having vibrations issues unless the tires are totally wasted....then they need replacing.

Definitely sounded like a balancing issue. It's a good thing you brought that up though. Flipping tires is pretty common with people that have lowered cars so it's definitely a way to maximize your tire life.

Right....^....or you could do the "Smart Thing" and buy/install a total camber kit to bring your alignment back to OE specs. That way you're not buying tires every 10K miles or flipping them every 5K....Gary
