Flip key

I have researched and haven't found what I'm looking for... I am interested in a flip key from eBay, and its states it comes with a chip, so all that is required is getting the key cut... And it's pretty cheap, around $20... Is that all that is required, or is the transponder chip it come with complete crap?...Has anyone had any experience with this kind of key?..

You have to have the chip programmed as well

Ya I forgot to add that part as well... But what my real question is, are the chips that they come with any good?... I read a few posts that are from 2009 saying the chips don't work and they had to use their oem ones...

It might or might not work...just depends on luck...I rocked the flip key for almost 8-9 months and loved it but after a while it just started becoming dull and I felt like it was going to break.

For the flip key all you need to do is transfer internals from your FOB, get key cut, pull out that little chip in your OEM key & put in into the flip key which has a slot for it inside.

I've been rocking one for over a year. It's not bad. Feels cheap for sure.
I had one key only and bought this as back up. Remote with chip and uncut key was 20 shipped. Can't beat that.

Had it cut locally and programmed and works fine.

Also what the guy above me said. You can remove the chip from your current key and set it inside the flip key (it's just glued there with epoxy type glue) and call it a day. Just get the key cut at this point.

No problem, depending on your city I guess. Where I live everything costs more. It was 80 bucks including cutting IIRC

I had 3 keys programmed for $60 total. Get a few and do them together, usually you'll get a better deal
