Yes! I noticed this too, but all G35s not just coupes. I'm trying to get my neighbor to buy one and told him I could find him a sedan in his price range ($7500). I'm lookin and lookin and these things are $10k all day. Blew my mind. Only thing I could find for $7.5k was a salvage title or really high mileage.

He's 20 and kinda in this gay racer scene and he's trying to tell me that everyone's ditching Hondas and crap and buying up Infiniti. Supposedly its a trend.

In my area they're all going up. I couldn't believe it really. When I was looking for my car I remember I found a bunch of sedans for around $8k. Now I'm looking at people asking $10k for the same sedan only now its 5 years later.

I just pulled mine up on KBB and see it is up >1k on trade in value. I think seasonality is a factor in prices for RWD coupes, weather might not suck so much where you're at, but it certainly plays a factor when people think about buying one here.

Now you have me thinking about making a move.

That's been going on for a while. The G35 has become the next civic since they are so cheap (relatively speaking) now. I can't blame a kid for wanting a 300HP RWD car over a 140HP FWD car.

I'm not sure i really trust NADA or KBB. RIght now they are listing my 152K mile sedan at $8K clean trade-in, with $10,700 clean retail. No way would I get that if i were to sell or try to trade it in. I try and look at autotrader and ebay completed sales to get a sense of market values as anyone can ask $15K doesn't mean they will get it. I was seeing sedans with similar miles and condition selling on Ebay for $5000-6500 ish. Prob a little low if one factors in travel to get the car. When i almost traded the car in at 117K miles, the dealer offered me $8500. I would venture to guess now i'd be offered $6500 or so.

End of the year i might finally trade it in and get a G37x . I know i've been saying that for years now though but what's been holding me off is selling my place and buying a new house and applying for a mortgage debt free vs having a car note on the application.

I'm keeping mine for the next 10 years. Hoping it would hit MSRP again

Would have to be 240sx status, which still wouldn't be MSRP even if it was mint.

Only if hyperinflation takes off.

$40K would buy you a 20 year old G35....or a tomato.

I've noticed prices for first gen G35s have gone up in my area from last year. You could "almost" get a salvaged title G35 with 90K miles for 10K, now they are asking as much as $15K for a low mile but modded one.

Too many young sailors with guaranteed paychecks, coming off cruise with thousands of dollars in the bank and almost unlimited financing from NFCU and USAA. Driving prices up!
