Since I will not be lowering my car, looks like I'll be going with 255/40/19 in the REAR. While I would like to go 245/35/19 in the FRONT (or 245/40/19), could I use 255/35/19 (since I already have them on the rears)?
You could, but you'll still have that major gap over the top of the tires...Gary
So here you go: 245/40 up front and 255/40 out back. Looks much better. May put 245/35 up front at a later date, but that's what she looks like. You can compare with the photos in the first post which show 255/35 on the rear. Again, this is a NON-LOWERED G35.
Looks a bit better. But you're really nit-picking here.
There is nothing wrong with the factory 225/40 front 245/40 rear. But whatever floats your boat...
First of all, OP, I think it looks great. For a non-lowered G your wheel wells are filled nicely. Nothing crazy, yet no shortcomings. If you wanted to put some spacers on your wheels (20mm front; 25mm rear) you'd have an outstanding look for a non-lowered car.
But, justice, can you really say he's being nitpicky? Like, seriously? He wants to make his car as good looking as possible with certain stipulations..how's that your business? People want what they want and that's perfectly fine. OP has every right.
After driving it for a few days, here are my impressions: (1) Noticeably (albeit slight) slower on take-off which is to be expected given the larger tire diameters and (2) better grip and handling in the corners. Much happier than with the 255/35 in the rear; that definitely felt mismatched with the 40's up front.
And, I agree, Scraggle...she looks WAY better with the 40s in the back. It looked really lop-sided and goofy before. Even my girlfriend noticed...and she never notices anything about the car. Ha!
