I have a 06 g35x and I love it!! ... expect the transmission. I love the idea of awd for traction and what not, but the only auto transmission option sucks. would like to swap it out for a 6 speed but not sure if its been done before or if it would even fit. etc, length to fit with my transfer case.

It's been done one time I think, wasn't a DIY and had almost zero detail about the project, no pictures of the underside once it was complete or anything. Unfortunately the owner wrecked the vehicle last spring too.

Someone might be able to chime in and link the thread for the build, you should seriously look into a transgo valve body upgrade as an alternative, makes snappy shifts and removes the sluggishness.

The 5AT==> 6MT AWD swap was by yosip1115. Do a search on username.

 

it looks like the only swap covered there is for rwd

 

Yeah as far as I know that build was from G35X 5AT into a G35 6MT and included REMOVAL of the AWD components.

 

oh well I guess, from all the research I've been doing it's looks like it's either 6MT RWD or AWD 5AT.... NOT both

 

Honestly the 5AT with the transgo kit is a solid option as long as your plans involve less than about 450hp to the wheels.
