How much is the swap going to cost? a mechanic said maybe 10k. He said because my car was modified he cant do an easy engine swap.. The car has a turbo, intercooler, full exhaust, downpipe and an ecu tune. maybe a few other things, and said the stock vq35de wouldnt fit inside and might have to pay alot more to get a custom fit is this true? If the cost is going to be 10k then i might aswell buy a new g35/37 right?

 

Doesn't seem right, I've done a swap for less than 700 bucks. If the engine bay wasn't modified (which it shouldn't have been for a turbo install) it's the same process to remove and install

You need professional help...by way of a shop that knows what they are doing...unless you know what you are doing.

You bought a turbo car, and the motor gave out in less than 48 hours.

You have no idea what may have caused it.

You need a shop with a tuner contact. If you just swap out your motor and have no access to a tuner, you are gonna be in for a world of hurt.
