Might actually cry

Anyone ever cried after selling your G?
Got mine priced to sell because I need a truck but I'm going to miss it so much.
Someone stop me?!

I sold mine a few years ago and when I got home I realized it was a huge mistake; I was really down. I then complained for the next two years at least once per week. Finally decided to do something about it, contacted the guy I sold it to and bought it back.

In 2005, I sold my 2004 G35 coupe. Black on black. 6 speed.

I was going through a divorce and justified selling it for financial reasons.

I shed a tear while signing.

I couldnt handle it.

Some months later I bought an EVO VIII.

In 2007, I traded the EVO for a used 2005 coupe. Black on black. 6 speed. With 30,000 miles on it.

Drove it to 98,000 miles. New wife was having a baby.

Justified selling it.

Big mistake.

In 2019, I finally got another coupe. I think they will have to take it from my cold dead hands even though it is expensive to maintain (if you saw it, you would understand), and it burns 1/2 quart of oil a week.

A guy in a modded Q60 Red Sport pulled up alongside me and told me he regretted selling his coupe.

I believe the regret of selling a G35 coupe is universal....

I've had my coupe for 7 years now and considered putting it up for sale at least once every year but just can't bring myself to let my pos go lol. I'll probably drive this car til the wheels fall off

I regret daily selling my old Honda to buy the G35 (even though I always said the ONLY car Id sell my accord for was the G35)

If I could do it again Id just keep the honda and park it... I owned it for 16 years and was babied to say the least.

The justification is the G35 is WAY more fun to drive, so I am ok with the sale, but still have regret bigtime... I also miss Honda build quality over the G but, fun to drive factor trumps everything

I just posted a few weeks ago about this. Long story short.....I had one. Sold it. Regretted it. Bought another one.

they’re gonna have to pull my cold dead hands off the steering wheel if I’m ever to part with it

I don’t even consider selling mine anymore. It’s mint and what I would get for it could in no way justify the loss. I don’t drive it too much because my wife always parks me into the garage, but in nice weather I love to take her out.

Funny story regarding kids. When my wife was preggo with number 1 boy, she woke up in the middle of the night and suggested I sell the G and get something more practical. I politely responded no and went back to sleep.

A few weeks later the same thing happened and this time I said, “No, and don’t ask me again!”

I have two boys and never had a problem toting them around in the G, or car seats for that matter. The packaging in the G is quite amazing to have that much room in the rear. Modern coupes have essentially zero leg space in the rear. Not sure how they did it, but the G is downright roomy in the back. I sat in an S5 and when I was comfortable, the drivers seat was literally backed against the rear seat - and I thought that was a big coupe???

I then added an ISF assuming it would be better than the G on space just because it had 4 doors and boy was I wrong. The G had more width inside and front to rear space. Who knew?

Only when it came to sports equipment and not wanting to trash the G did I finally add another car - a rare FX50S that I absolutely love. Infiniti really nailed it in the early 2000-2010s. The FX50 has amazing driving dynamics and is probably the most underrated, unknown super SUVs out there. It had to have been one of the first high performance SUVs out there, if not the first, but no one would ever know that. Honestly, aside from some cosmetics things, the FX50 is a damn near perfect automobile (man, it was hard to find one though!)

So, as amazing a car as the ISF was, it was a relatively easy decision for me to keep the G and sell the ISF. The G gets compliments damn near every time I take it out and I would miss the manual, etc etc etc. The ISF to most was just a 4 door car. Now, that being said, I had the ISF for 3 years and sold it for exactly what I paid for it as well (clean ones hold their value amazingly well), so that made things easier as welll. Would have loved to have kept both, but the ISF served no purpose - it wasn’t big enough to use for sports (not would I have) and it wasn’t a coupe and it wasn’t a manual. Sad to see it go, but it went to a good home and you never know if I might own it again someday...

Last story about not selling the G....

One day I took my boys to Wendy’s and as we parked I could feel the longing stare of a guy in a minivan a few spots down as I pulled in. To his shock, after I opened my door, two boys popped out of the back seat...

I swear to you, he immediately looked over at his wife in his passenger seat and without being able to hear what he said, I swear it was along the lines of, “ you said we couldn’t fit kids in the back seat of a coupe!!”.

I felt bad for that guy. Probably sold a G...

Don’t make that same mistake!

I've seen people make that same expression when I had the kids in the back of my coupe. It really wasn't difficult at all.

Also people at Home Depot when I come out with way more stuff than should prossibly fit into the trunk of a coupe and I just fold the back seat down and start piling it in.
