Water in trunk
Water in trunk
Rainy season here in NW Washington. My new to me 2006 G35 has been sitting a while and the spare tire well was full of water. Got it all drained and cleaned, but now I need to figure out how the water is entering the trunk. I have read elsewhere that the tail light seals are a likely culprit, at least on other cars. Does the same go for these G cars?
Thanks,

Do you have a sunroof? Might be the rear drains.
AAlso open the trunk and clean the area around the gasket, that's the diversion path for rainwater off the back window. It likes to accumulate leaves and stuff back there. Put a hose on the rear window(Trunk open) and you'll see where the water runs off around the trunk gasket.

And boy what a pain it is to clean the adhered grit from the channel around the hinges and the wire loom. Does no one think about cleaning stuff when they design things? Sheesh!

I am going to try compressed air. Also what are the grate looking panels? are those the drains?

Not sure what you are referring to. Are you talking about the flow-through air vent in the side of the trunk compartment?
