the most annoying thing about my G!!!

Every time i open my trunk after it has rained and there is still water on the trunk lid, a little stream of water always drips into my trunk!!!

it wouldn't be so annoying if it weren't for the fact that it drips right onto my Sub enclosure!!!

so i have two questions for you guys....

1) has anyone figured out how to fix / stop this?

2) do you think it is a problem to getting the enclosure wet? (it is made out of MDF and is carpeted)

thanks!!!

1) I don't see how you can avoid having moisture at the bottom of your trunk lid when it rains.. the gutter around the frame of your trunk opening is supposed to trap excess water from rain, car wash, etc.. but the water stays there until it evaporates or is wiped away. Therefore, I don't see how you can avoid this problem unless you carefully wipe the bottom portion of your trunk lid before you open it all the way.

2) Should not be a problem IMO.. is just few drops of water after all. Not enough to cause any significant damage.

MDF shouldn't expand like other kinds of wood...you should be okay...if i remember right, don't you have your box in the corner instead of dead-center behind the seats? maybe you should relocate the box...good luck

I haven't played around with trying to stop it yet but the water that drips down is from in between the trunk lid and the tail light. The water gets trapped in that seam and then rolls out when you open the trunk.

i know what you're saying but i dont have this problem anymore, when the trunklid is wet i open it less than 1/2 way and wait 2-3Seconds and that allows all the water to drip into the sides that diverts the water out without any drips inside. Another thing taht helps is Sealent, makes the water flow off VERY quickly and easily!

Answers as follows:

1) Put car in garage! Or wipe trunk off before opening all the way.

2) No! Unless you are pouring serious amounts of water into your trunk, don't worry about it.

3) Move on . . . .

i took notice the last time it rained. the water comes from the reverse light lenses. i am gonna try to put some extra weather stripping in between the lens and the metal. Hopefully, it wont allow water to channel up the back of the lens and off the sides.
