G35 coupe weird noise (vid)

Hey y’all, my g35 coupe’s making a weird noise coming from drive belt / pulley area. The noise is constant, from start up and doesn’t go away. It started with the typical high pitch noise that goes away from warm up , but this is a different issue. Anyone have experience with this issue as well ?? Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Sounds like a failing idler or tensioner pulley. Take the belts off and spin everything by hand, it will be very obvious what the problem is. If anything makes noise when you spin it by hand then it's bad, to get a baseline of what it SHOULD sound like (and how stiff it should be) go down to an auto parts house and have them pull any idler/tensioner for basically any car, then spin it by hand and you'll see what it SHOULD be like.

If you've never replaced the tensioners then just plan on buying them both. Your engine is the VQ35DE REV UP (2005-2007 with the 6MT, I can see your exhaust cam actuators) so you have two tensioners and one idler, the primary belt uses a tensioner and idler, the AC belt uses a tensioner only.

That’s correct…mine’s an 07 6MT, good catch do you have a diagram by any chance ? Here’s the only one I could find, but does not correspond to what the setup that you mentioned (2 Idler pulleys)

Yeah that one you posted is for the VQ35HR engine, here's the one for your DE engine. Everything is accessible from under the car, just remove the bolts for the engine lower cover.

You can technically do it all from the top of the engine if you have small enough arms but I always end up with pretty substantial abrasions so I don't recommend it unless there's just no other way.

So the two at the bottom of the diagram labeled I/P(A&C) are actually tensioner’s, not idler pulleys ??

Yes and they drew the adjustment screw on those two as well.
