2003 G35 Coupe

The job was to fix the failed trunk opener. Followed all the great suggestions on this site. It was the broken wires at the crimp point. But now Im lost as to what has happened.
Broken wires were found and they and cleaned up reaady to reconnect - are not yet reconnected. Before I went further I Verified the lock mechanism works with 12 volt power surce.

But and a big but now I cannot get the gear shifter out of Park. And the SLIP light comes on. Shift lock bypass doesn't operate.
Engine runs fine. Is there a specific fuse (Number ?) that may be the culprit. I have diagram and checeked checked them but ...

Must the lock wires be reconnected for some reason?
