Props to guys who like this car, boo to those who pick it apart... Bmw and Mercedes of similar years have way more quirks and issues than these g35's and the bmw and Mercedes aren't even as quick....

From what I've learned from owning several cars is, proper maintenance and care takes a car a long way

Thing I hate the most is when I get a phone call or need peace for a bit and I'm listening to my CD, yes I buy CD's still the sound quality is a million times better than an MP3, there is no Pause or Mute button!! You would have thought that being Bose, they'd have Play Pause Mute Stop and so on

The OEM head unit (non-Bose, but I hear Bose still has some of the same problems) is easily the most annoying thing about the car. At random points in driving it will simply shut off audio. I have to restart the car in order for it to work again. Only reads my burnt CD half the time (only has problems with one specific burnt CD, so it's probably the CD's fault). Doesn't have an auxiliary input (which might not be that common on other 2005 cars, but it would be nice). Has buttons that get stuck. And it doesn't read the display information correctly (or at all) on more than half of the CD's I own.

On top of that, it's not an overly good sounding stereo system. Especially not for a "luxury" car.

There are other little gripes, but I haven't even had the car a year yet, so I'll reserve judgment.

The quality of the Blose system really isn't there. For a quality overhaul though...

DDin Template 200$
DDin 200$ minimum
Sub 250$
Amp x1 200$
Speakers 200$
Amp x2 200$
Wiring 125$
Time ???

Bottom line: it's too much money for a quality overhaul... Just upgrade front speakers and switch all sound to front for a soundstage.

Yeah, its kinda bs. That $200 for the template is for the Metra kit. That's kits a pos. For the jdm kit, its more like $300-350. You can bypass the amp and power 4 speakers with the head and have a pretty decent setup, but yer still talkin $700+ for your most frugal shopper.
