So is the 3 series, the a4,etc.

Compare those cars on its own merits, not its place in their lineup. Like i said, i liked the 330i the best, but its no where near the same price category.
I dont think its fair to compare something that costs almost 40 percent more. (in terms of monthly lease payments)

Well, you have to compare the two. A Civic owner will consider the G, 330i, A4, C230, or what have you a luxury car. Whereas the owners of the M, 5 series, A6, and the E will definitely look at the G entry level. It doesn't mean the cars are bad, just where they are gene pool.

It is always beyond me why people lease their cars. There is no savings except on the monthly payments. I think leasing is a rip off by the manufacturers.

Its a popular misconception. There can be bad lease deals, but for the most part Infiniti Financial heavily subsidizes their leases to move cars.

Looking at sale price even, the bimmer i had specced was 46k, the g was 35k.

Like i said, i think the bimmer drove better, but i couldnt justify the extra 10-11k for it. Especially considering the wife really didnt like the bmw interior. (didnt like the seats and felt the interior was just too cold/uninviting).

I would agree 100 percent that G is the ENTRY level of Infiniti and to some degree that other ppl will compare G to 3 serise, A4, C class, IS so for and so on...BUT there are deferent level to those cars, unlike the G, where the BMW have 325/330, A4 have 2.0 and 3.2, C 230/280/350, IS250/350...yet most of the time we compare the G to much more expensive of their ENTRY level models, and then knocking on the G ...would you compare M35 to 525 or 550? A6 3.2 or 4.2...

agree with G and M as being top players in their respective classes, also with updates coming up for the G, I can see it taking the 2007 car of the year again.

infiniti fx (isnt an SUV, its a crossover) compare it with other crossovers. chrysler pacifica, cadillac srx subaru tribeca. i think it blows them all out of the water.

both the q's i am not that passionate about. the qx SUV is a giant. its not japanese. to tell you the truth i would get the Lexus GX470 as an SUV over the QX. Same with ML500. they are smaller but are much better.

the Q sedan is a little outdated. they need a new agressive q45 with like 360 or so horsepower, a lotta nice tech goodies the current gen one had when it debuted. if its anything like the new G or M, it's bound to be a hit.

my .o2 on this.

My point is saving on the monthly payment is not the exactly a saving per se. If you look at the long run, leasing is a lost cause. You never own the car, you don't built up "equity", you can't drive it like it's yours (i.e. as many miles of enjoyment as you want), you still have to pay for regular maint. The only way you may break even is if you trade it in for a newer model. But there is still no guarantee your lease payment stays the same, especially new model generally a tad more consider inflation and new features that they put out.

You are right on the nose there. Bimmer has the most boring interior.

Yup, I really like the '07 concept. It will be a sweet looking car only if the production car looks 85% of the concept. Someone mentioned in another thread that the new G is going for $70K. I am not sure where he got the number from, especially if the so-called GT-R is going to be due out just about the same time, and the same price? Who would want to pay for the new G if you can get the GT-R for the same price?

I think the FX is a very unique looking vehicle, and probably the only eye catching one on the road. Except the Mercedes G-Wagon, of course.

That's where I commented the G gives you most for the bucks. It has pretty much all the bells and whistles of all the more expensive competitors. I am not knocking the G, simply stated that it is still an entry level luxo sport coupe. And you can't deny that.

Well, that is whole other can of worms, we have many discussion regrading that matter in "buying & leasing" section, one can not generalize "if you lease? you automaticly lose money", its about what kinda deal one've made and what are one's financial/personal situations.
