Well, more of a curiosity. Who else here is driving w/ their OEMs w/ the summer tires and are also living in cold climate regions? I know, I know...I shouldn't be driving with it on. I have another car so buying another set of winter or all-season tires are not worth it in my opinion. When it's nice out (as in no snow or rain, but cold!) I drive my car with the summer tires on. Just curious who else here does that too. Occassionally, I miss driving my G35 so I have to take it out of the garage !

 

Well I was driving on my OEM 19s in 30-40 degree weather on some nights (before it started snowing). The second I saw a forecast of snow I swapped them out though, and god do I miss them. There is a Ferrari F430 that lives down the street from me (sexiest automobile I have ever set eyes on), and I have seen him driving around a few times this winter.

 

I drove the G with my 19's still on a few times last month and in November when it was cold.
The traction that you have in the summer is non existent.
I drove it fine but it broke traction too easily in the cold making the car unpredictable.

 

i do the same thing, drove mine today, and the weather was nice, in the 30s, and i live in philly area. I only drive when there isn't any snow on the road. I do have a second car. Too much trouble changing out tires...

 

Ok. So, I'm not the only one then. I always debated whether I shouldve gotten another set of tires like all-season during the winter, but I kinda thought it was a waste since I have another car.

 

I drive on my 18" OEM here in Wa. State in the rain @ 30 - 40 degrees everyday and I love the grip on them...maybe because they are new.

Saving up for the pretty shoes.

 

Me also. Been in the snow once, and up here the dew freezes into thin sheets of ice. No problems so far - just being very careful.

Same here, i'm in Vancouver, B.C., Canada and i've been driving in my OEM 19" and summer tires when it's around -2C, no problems at all. However, once there is even a SLIGHT layer of frost or ice or snow, it is NONDRIVABLE.

I live in south jerz work in philly...will be gettin my second car end of this month...drove in the snow one time and it was the worse....the traction control came on so much the car wouldnt even move... and i got stuck in snow like 1 inch thick...last car i know of that gets stuck in that lil bit of snow is the supra's!!!!

 

Drive mine every day... it was a cool 39 deg this morning.. but the high is supposed to be in the 60's.. windows down, sun roof open no snow here!! Ok I wont rub it in anymore!!

 

I drive with my summer tires all the time during the winter. I just don't drive as aggressively as I do when the temps are warmer, and I never turn off VDC. I'll keep them on in the rain also, just drive slower. But if there is snow in the forecast, then I swap out for my winter tires. The moment the roads are clear again, my summer setup goes back on.

I change my wheels about 12 times a season.
