I get to eat lunch after I go to Nissan
I'm sorry, but I have to say it....

If it isn't covered by warranty, it's DIY. I can't imagine paying someone to do an oil change....So I guess I get to eat lunch and dinner after 15 min the garage

Do what you like, what you think is cool, JDM or UDSM, stock or modified... it's all good with me and it shouldn't really matter to anyone else. I may have opinions about how you modify your car and what you put on it, but in the end, i'm not the one driving the car and parking in my driveway every night. My 2 pennies... If you shave off the G35 emblem and keep the infiniti logo, is it a nameless infiniti car and no longer a G35? A rose by any other name..yada yada.. an infiniti G35 is still a nissan 350GT and vs. versa, potato - potahto, tomato - tomahto. And the skyline isn't even really a nissan in origin. It was bought/overtaken by nissan from another company, Prince Motor Co. who had it made in Italy by Michelotti for Prince (sport version of generation 1 skylines), So come on...

I'm going to be the first one to put Prince Motor Co. on my car, next to the skyline wording, and next to the nissan emblem, with all interior emblems showing inifiniti.

In all seriousnous, if you like it, do it. If you don't... don't. Don't flame others for what they think is cool or looks good. Give your opinions but let's keep the heat down a little, we are all G riders... or 350GT riders, or skyline riders... or whatever. (sorry guys... my cogs aren't fully sync'd today - )
had to say it again +1 well said too!

So what is this in Japan a Nissan or Infiniti? It look's like a Nissan Morano. How I know, my wife as a black one.

I'm the excact opposite. Being the entry-level Infiniti model, a common misconception is that the G coupe is a $40K+ car simply because it's an Infiniti. True, I'm speaking of generally simple-minded people when it comes to cars, but my town is filled with them and a good majority of my clients might be described in the same way. That being said, there is some benefit to playing down the Infiniti brand on my coupe that's much closer to $30K.

That's why I removed all exterior emblems. After getting tired of the bland rear (IP), I decided to put the 350GT emblem back on the right with another emblem on the left to balance things out. It's a very OEM look.

Now, when the wrong people ask "What kinda car is that?", I can simply reply "Nissan makes that! " They rarely venture close enough to see the Infiniti stitching on the seats or anything else inside.

It's not always about wanting to be a JDM Nissan Skyline 350GT. Sometimes it's a matter of not wanting to carry the stigma of an Infiniti G35 around with you. Indeed, Nissan succeded with their marketing strategy.

I don't bother putting the Skyline badge on.. I seriously think that is ricey... Driving around thinking you have a skyline or something..

I do have the rear debadged with the 350GT emblem though. It looks good with the emblem alone.

The Skyline/Nissan emblems look cheesy IMO.

YEAH, What he said!

+There are plenty of threads regarding this controversy. It's an never ending flame war. Here's one of my favorites:

Which car was manufactured first, Nissan Skyline 350GT or Infiniti G35? IMO, from the day your "Infiniti" was made, it was rebadged to make you think it was more luxurious and worth more $$$. In the end, you paid for a high priced Nissan. I know for some of you "JDM haters", hearing that your car is actually a Nissan is a hard pill to swallow. But don't lose any sleep over it because you have an "Infiniti" and I have a "Nissan". Either way, we ALL have one kickarse ride!!!!

Well put
Funny because when I went to the first dealership, the guy was nothing less than patronizing to me about buying the car. He must have thought I was some young kid who just wanted a free test drive. I was gonna go off on him because of his ****ty attitude and mention the fact I wasn't there to get a glorified Nissan (amongst other points I was gonna let the dealership hear )

So after reading a few of these posts, just how much HP do I gain from Rebadging??

Im taking all my emblems off the rear. Looks cleaner with all that crap gone anyways, IMHO. Infinity doesnt pay me to advertise for them, and I dont relly care if anyone knows what type of car Im driving. Why remove something that says G35 for something that says, 350GT?? Oh wait the HP gains....

To each thier own.

Yeah, I don't think they'd pay you to advertise their name anyway since you can't spell I N F I N I T I correctly. j/k

It's not about wanting the Infiniti name because it is "better" or anything like that. It's just about not rebadging your car to something it is not. If Infiniti was the primary company, and Nissan was a spin-off to make lower cost versions, and our car was a Nissan 350GT over here and an Infiniti G35 overseas, I wouldn't be running out to put the incorrect Infiniti G35 badge on my car either.
