Typically most dealers don't actually have body shops. They usually have an arrangement with someone local and mark it up. Try to talk to some people locally (preferably people w/ nicer cars) and get their opinions on where to take it. Going to the dealer is a waste of time IMO.

Real_G - How much more do you pay for a $0 deductable? Is a comprehensive deductable different then the deductable you would pay if you were involved in a car accident at fault? Thanks.

 

G withdrawl sucks, I went through it myself. A good therapist might be able to help you with that. However, if you can pull through this tough episode in ur life, you'll come out of it loving ur g even more!

I had 2 people hit my car while it was parked
one of them was the exact same damage as yours
and the other one DESTROYED my front bumper, leaving scratches on my headlights...

I always say that if Karma intended for my car to get damaged, better it happens when it's parked then when I'm speeding in it!

 

you are *so* lucky that 1) no body panels are damaged - only plastic bumper cover; 2) you caught who did it.

Well thanks to g35vixen for the help.. I was locked out of G35driver.com cause I changed my email and the activation email went to my spam folder!! I was having SERIOUS G35 withdrawls.. no car no forums..

I drove the car today.. (embarassing with the damn dent!)
Got an estimate at the insurance recommended bodyshop. (then I take to the bodyshop of my choice)

Parts: $353
Body Labor: $79.80
Paint Labor: $193.80
Paint Supplies:$142.80
Sublet/Misc : $12
Sales Tax: $34.76

TOTAL : $816.86

I pay my $500 collision deductable. I thought it would be covered by comprehensive, but no, its collision!(BS cause I wasnt even in the car!). Then my insurance company gets the total from UPS insurance company and I get reimbursed. So its all good.. I drop off the car Wednesday early and get it back Late Thursday...two day rental car.. yuck!

Also the UPS insurance (Liberty Mutual) called me today and said it should be a quick one since it is cut and dry. I got the police report and the guy couldnt be ticketed since it was private property, but the report puts him at fault 100%, so that was cool.
