my baby is out of comission for a while.... i got into a little accident tonight. my passenger side rear fender is mangled and the wheel is fcuked up too. it appears to only be cosmetic damage (doesn't look like anything was hurt other than that one body panel & the wheel). the fender did bend and is rubbing on the tire, so i didn't want to risk driving it home.

more details and maybe a pic or 2 tomorrow. it brought a tear to my eye looking at her sitting on the side of the road like that.
although, it's only a car, and while i do love it, it's just sheet metal after all.... at least i'm fine.

PS - the other car was a Ford Expedition.... he jumped the gun on a light and was probably traveling about 25mph when he crossed thru the intersection as i was trying to make a left. one more foot to the front and they'd probably be replacing the door, fender, maybe windows, possibly side air bags. so, considering the size, weight, and momentum of what hit her, the G took the hit with relatively minor damage.

damn steve glad ur alrite but im sure if ur like me u wud rather b hurt than ur g being thats how i felt after my accident. dont worry everything will work out, u going thru insurance im assuming push to replace the parts and not repair them cuz nobody wants a fender thats been hit. once again i feel for u bro i probably feel the same way as u since mine got into the accident the week b4 the meet

So sorry to hear steve, I feel your pain. Im sure it will come out looking all new. Just be glad it wasnt worse or worse you could have been hurt. Even though you love your G (which im pretty sure everyone here does) your not as replaceable as a car can be, not to mention your not worth 40gs to the people who care about you....
lol ok.. there was my little sappy speech. I just got into a little minor accident and thats what I drilled into my head so that it wouldnt bother me as much
But yea you'll be alright, and so will your G.

oh and drew, you're right about the lies, it wasn't a Ford Expedition, it was actually a black G coupe with carbon fiber hood & trunk lid.... anybody we know? LoL his grill popped off b4 he took off.... doesn't that belong to somebody?

 

^ J/K on that last part... wanted to lighten the mood a little. the accident was real, the Expedition was real, the ducatiguy sighting was fictional

two things to note in the pics...

1... the car would have been totally driveable except for the fact that a piece of jagged fender was ripping my tire to shreds. note the black specs on the fender that are little bits of my tire.

despite the body damage, it doesn't look like anything mechanical was hurt. b/c it was a high SUV, the fender took most of the hit as opposed to the wheel, which probably would have hurt the drivetrain somewhere

and 2... check out my new tints in the pics.... makes the G-Squad logo look so much better on the back windshield
