All i seem to be doing is scratching it up..not getting any twisting. Its not budging and i dont want to break it or continue scratching it. Am i doing the right thing here. Should I put grease or WD40 on it? arg why is this easy mod giving me such a hard time
If you turn a nut clockwise, doesn't that tighten it?

Yes, but in this case it moves the nut further down the rod exposing more room for seat to move.

use a 14mm open wrench and it won't damage the nut.

I'm 5'-6" and i hated the seats until I did this adjustment. Now they are great seats.

yeah my pliers are doing a poor job of gripping this circular nut. Today i gripped on it enough to inhibit the button from turning the bolt, but the nut still did not budge clockwise, or in any direction...whats going on? is it stuck? Any suggestions, my 6'4"ness will be greatly appreciative

1st) I'm 6'6", so I'm going to go down to the basement tonight and try this SWEET mod out, this is what I've been Looking for!!!

2nd)
Guess you can't read the part where he said he had already searched.

What is it with all the attitude toward a re-post anyway. If you don't want to take the time to read it, just skip it.

Besides, the search feature on this site blows. You can't even use "with", "or", "+", "and", or any other normal search words or methods to find a thread with multiple words or whole phrases.
1,000% Agree. Re-Posts are our friends. B/c look at me, I never heard of this mod, much less *knew* to even look for it. If you already know about the post and especially can tell from the "Title" of the post, then SKIP IT Please guys! Let others like me benefit 100% from a Re-Post. Thanks for listneing. Now, I've got a mod to work on! Yeee Haww!

You will have to make quarter turns with the nut at the same time.

LOL this is the easiest DIY in the world. I did this as soon as I got my car home from the dealership. Vice-grips! Be careful not to loosen it too so much that it unthreads itself from the worm gear. I don't know if it has a retainer to keep it on there if you back it off too far!

Search ****'s:

Ever think that "reposts" could have new and even more valuable information than an old dug up thread from a search could find, which could even be so outdated its misleading..?

So did you intend to lower the front portion or back portion of the seat cushion? My issue (and I'm also 5'6) is that my butt sits lower than my thighs, which causes some lower back issues. I'd love to be able to either raise the rear or lower the front.

(Using the seat control doesn't help much because it causes steering wheel and knee/clutch issues--not to mention smacking the head on the roof )

So does this mod lower the whole seat or a portion?

Depending on how you adjust your seat, the entire seat will go lower.
