If you even wanted to try and claim a hit and run it has to be done where you atleast havent been driving the car around after.. it would have to be a police report at the scene and you would to have to had the car parked somewhere.
the 1 thing that no one has mentioned that u should be aware of is that if u get a police report and there is damage to the wall u hit, u'll have to pay for that repair also..
IMHO u should 'nut up' and tell the truth to ins or don't use ins.. no hit-n-run BS.
Selling ur integrity for an extra $100 a month or $10k one time just doesn't seem worth it to me. When all else is gone, Integrity is all a man has. -don't sell out -

i think ive decided on going with ins. i dont believe that the car has been totalled because more than likely the frame has not been damaged.
i believe that on the spin out, i hit a low sidewalk before i hit the wall, so the wall doesnt have any damage, and the wheels took most of the hit as well as the low lip and bumper.
i think tomorrow i will give ins a call and hopefully it'll get taken care of.
the car was drivable, but would be unsafe to drive because the front left fender was touching the wheel. i ended up driving it to my friends place which was about 1/4 mile from the accident scene and left it there.
from most ballpark estimates premium could go up as high as 250-400 every 6 months, but if the damage cost 4k to 8k it would take at least 5 years to break even vs paying 4k out of pocket.
i do hope that they have some type of leniency on first time accidents. im 24 so i missed the special 25 year old ins discount special.

Insurance fraud plays a big part for some of you guys paying out the **** for 6 month premiums. Just take your deductible and higher rates and get it fixed. They're going to see something scraped your bumper and no paint was exchanged.
Your looking at at least 3-4 grand there.
BTW, it's NOT insurance fraud if you admit to fault. That's what insurance is for. They may up your rates or cancel you, however.
