My '04 rev matches....

And you downshift twice quickly when you want to accelerate quickly, and no you do not hit the redline

Say you are cruising along at 35mph in auto so you're in 5th gear and you decide you want to punch it in mm. You switch to mm which drops you into 4th, then you tap the shifter twice into 2nd gear and punch it. This makes you immediately accelerate where as if you were just cruising in auto and punched it the car would wait a few seconds as it downshifted itself. So I guess you can use the mm when you know you're gonna wanna hit it. I personally like to drop down into 2nd around the big wide (yet all one lane) turn around my house so that I can go through the turn and be immediately back on the gas with out waiting for the car to downshift.

It's for playing boy racer when mom and dad won't buy you a manual.

But true. On a normal G35D quality scale, it was about as useful as the OP..
