Service engine soon light.

I have a real quick question, my service engine soon light came on a few days ago and I just wanted to know if this was a factory preset at a certain milage, my car has done 49,856 so it is close to 50,000 miles but just wanted to make sure it wasn't anything else.

go to autozone or visit the dealer to have the code read.. I'd recommend autozone first to really see what the code is so the dealer can't trick you.

My light came on at 25K, which kind of surprised me. Nothing seemed to be wrong with my car, so I elected to reset the ECU first, just to see if it would come back on anytime afterwards. I'm at 27K now, and I haven't seen it since. You could give that a try. (Note; It's a very sensitive proceedure to follow, and you have to do it perfectly. It took me about 5 tries.)

I bet its just a random misfire code. You have cams and they will sometimes throw that code.
