Is the stock spoiler easily replaceable??

My car is coming in, in about 1-2 weeks time. Unfortunately, I have to take the spoiler with 6spd and I'm planning on removing it. I'm wondering if any of the aftermarket spoilers will easily replace the stock spoiler, or does it require drilling new holes and perhaps some repaint? Sorry, I'm not too familiar with how spoilers are installed, just thought it may be a better route to replace it rather than fixing the trunk after removing it. Thanks

i don't believe any of the aftermarket spoilers will align with the mounting system for the OEM one. Your best bet is to swap entire trunk lids with someone who dosen't have the spoiler and wants it.

Right.. If you remove the stock spoiler, not only will you not be able to fit an aftermarket spoiler, but you will also be left with I think 9 holes in the trunk :P

Your best bet is to swap trunk lids. It shouldn't be too hard to find someone. Make a post in the REGIONAL forums.

I would've thought the Gialla spoiler would easily cover any holes left by the stock one. even if it does use them, you surely cannot see them once you put the Gialla on..

Re: Is the stock spoiler easily replaceable??

good point fluffydot, I wonder if that really is that case for gialla. Hopefully someone with a gialla spoiler can provide tips.

My car (still waiting however, painfully), will be black and I'm in Toronto.

Don't forget about the 3rd brake light. If you remove the factory spoiler, you lose the brake light.
