lakeshore tint

Anyone have any suggestions/pics of their LS coupes with window tinting?

read most of the threads and still dont know up from down when it comes to what actually blocks heat, what is just dark, what messes with nav/cell phones...etc

the dealership says they will do it for $250 thats 35%on the sides and a little draker in the back, but looking at prices around the area i can have it done for $150 if only i knew what looked good or what to get...

Also planning on spending 7-800 bucks on a clear bra to try to counter the ****ty paint ive been reading about. Any imput or objections?

all help appreciated

Not a coupe, but you can see what 15% looks like:

I paid $100 for the entire car with lifetime warranty.

5% all around, 15% on windshield, black exterior, black interior

paid $150 for all of it, tax included

never heard of tint messing with cellphones or nav?

Tint works ONE way, you can see out, can't see in, so people who ask me questions like "how can you see through your windows that dark?" the answer is simple, i open my eyes and look. When you look out into a brighter area than the area you are looking from (in this instance; inside a dark car) the outside is prefectly visible.

If you live in a rural area i do not recommend super dark tint such as mine, if you live in a fairly populated/lit area, it's perfectly fine.

It blocks the sun out very well so you can comfortably drive and your lap isn't being incinerated by the sun (hence windshield tint). Also privacy is excellent, people stare a lot, it gets old.

As far as legal issues, i've never been pulled over with my G, had it for a year now. Had a denali before this with 5% all around and 20% on windshield (with black on grey colors), never got cop trouble for it either, had it for 2 years. Worst thing will happen is they will give you a fix-it ticket.

of course... i mean think of tint is a dress-up mod really. The main reason i tint my windshields is because it matches the windows nicely together. I dont like how different shades of windows look on the SAME car so i try to get them all the same shade. Like i just did my mom's jag at 20% all around, even the windshield... looks stunning, and its not super dark, just right on a car like that.

Good luck

for navigation you cant get metallic tints because it messes with the navi reception so instead of 5% the code would go down as 8% which is what i had to do.

15% on your windshield! do you carry a flashlight? i got limo on all my windows and i can barely see through them when its dark enough.

I have 35% metallic tint on mine... and no navi for it to mess with... but when I eventually get navi, the tint shop will replace these for free. It blocks heat really well.

I just did mine last week. Paid $199.00 + tax. They did 20% on doors.
I went w/15% on everything else. Turned out great and it really helps
w/the heat in Texas. Now i'm wainting for my splashguards and my Stillen
cai. Should be here before the wekend.
