Hey,
I just did some research. BMW's web site lists the 745 to do 0-60 in 5.9 seconds. And then I checked out car-stats.com...Motor Trend rated it for a 1/4 mile time of 14.4 seconds. So it depends on whether you have a 6MT or 5AT G35C if you can take a 745 or not. I feel numbers are the most accurate way of resolving acceleration issues.
As for the whole going 130mph when your girlfriend is begging you to stop, that's just stupid. When you go fast, you should do it by yourself, because as the driver, you are responsible for getting your passenger(s) from point A to point B safely. You should have stopped immediately when your gf told you to stop...it's not okay to be like, "Oh I can't just let this one go". I think it seemed more like, "Oh I'm just too selfish and immature to think about the safety of my passengers."

NO. Forget the flowers, unless you're planning on changing your behavior from that of a selfish show-off to that of one who respects his gal. What is she supposed to think, "He cares more about driving fast than he does about me, but the flowers make it all worth it?" I pray she's not so stupid. Saying you're sorry means nothing. You proved that, as your behavior didn't change for even 5 minutes before you were at it again. Grow up, then get your gal, then get your car. Sounds like you're doing just the opposite.

alright alright a lil exageration, she wasnt crieng , i didnt even hear her , she did say slow down , and this is the first time i went over 80 with her in the car, im usually crazy ALONE never ever speeding with her in the car, but i dont know plus i didnt even know i was going that fast to tell u the truth , i thought maybe 100 the most , i don't know well thanx for making me feel worse, never had a speeding ticket in my life also ;/

wow dentalstud... you need to calm down. i'm sure we just got a small portion of their relationship so there's no need to get all hyped up about it and start dr. phil-ing him for all his g35driver.com days. we've all said our part and hopefully, he will take everyone's opinions into consideration.
i made note of the TWO sorries, simply implying that he doesn't mean he's sorry if he had to apologize twice at that instant. and no, the flowers are not a substitute for the respect she deserves, but it's more of a peace offering b/c i'm sure she was somewhat pissed off after that incident.
but please, let's not waste any more forum space analyzing this.

I was in a similar situation before:
One time a prelude was pulling up next to me, and trying to "get me going". My girlfriend, realizing that I love racing, quickly asked me to let it go. It was really hard to let a snobby prelude driver go, but being the gentleman that I am, I let off the gas, and proceeded at a comfortable speed

It sounds to me that you really didn’t do it on purpose, cause you felt bad when you realized what you did. But you probably got into a “tunnel vision." That happens when you forget everything that’s happening around you, and you focus on this one car (your opponent), your adrenalin is high, and you just have to beat this guy no matter what happens, then all of a sudden your conscious kicks in and your like whoa what the hell am I doing and slow down. It’s happened to me before.
