Re: Fun w some volkswagons

Ok My friend has the 25th anniversary ed. 337 GTI with:
Intake
Exhaust
Chip (with 100 octane program)
and most likely some other stuff

he runs 14.0 in the quarter on the track with the back seat out spare tire out etc.....

On the street he runs behind the G. EVERY TIME!

Soon he will have me beat cause he is completly hooking up the car with bigger turbos, new clutch/tranny, driveshafts, all the goodies. I wont be messing with him then. The comments about VW drivers are funny though cause he isn't like that and he almost want to get rid of his VW cause most owners are. He knows he should have gotten an STI but only admits it once in a while.

I definatly agree... I felt the same way until I drove one. I was very impressed... and VW's interior tops all in my opinion.. The color scheme.. the gauges, the stereo... You guys got to admit, the gauges in our rides are pretty damn lame. Maybe appealing to an 80 year old.. BORING!

First of all the G rulezzzzzzz. An integra type-R it's got one of the highestttttttt resale value, A 2000 Type-R with 40000 miles sold in 1 day for $20,000, now that is some fu*king great resale value considering it was MSRP at $24,500, so don't you wish you bought one. INTEGRA IS SYLISH, GTI IS A "BOX". TOP OF THE MORNING TO YA.

I second every aspect of logical. ^^

G styling ownz the VW. And how can you reject iTr? Itz classic Japanese racer car, plus itz pimp a$$. The spoiler is the Type R trademark.

Ending with, boring gauges on the G? Itz plain&simple, none of tht showy stuff.

Anwayz, we can drop some aftermarket stuff into our G's and smoke VW's also. Gcoupe's sleek style or box?

Re: Fun w some volkswagons

Anyway I dont want to get into an argument whether the Type R is better than a GTI but I would take the GTI over it any day. Spend 3 G's on that car and it will be a monster. I dont know if you can do that with a integra. However I do know that the Integra is a competent performer but its not for me.

I don't like neither GTI or the iTr, but i gotta say if i get to pick one, more likely i'd go with the Type R. Btw, in term of speed, i think WRX will have better money/performance ratio than the GTI. it runs around 5.6s on 0-60, and mid-14 on quartermile i believe. Wel, the interior of WRX is crap though...

Re: Fun w some volkswagons

I'm an embarrasment guys... well i pull up to the light tonight to this GTI, and it looks stock, and im seeing if they guy'll look at me or rev cause i'm wondering if he's gona try to race me, but nothin (cocky VW owners) so anyway i'm on the phone and when the light turns green the GTI just takes off, and i decide to try to run it, as im shifting 1-2 i waste time handing the phone to my friend because i cant shift with a phone in my hand....i end up losing by 4 cars...I basically gave up at 60 mph. I know I know..BUt factors as to why I lost was 1) 2 people in car 2) unexpected, he didnt give me a sign or anything, just took off 3) 20" wheels 4)wasted couple seconds with slow reaction time and handing phone 5) VDC engaged twice 6) didnt redline the car... i didn't know i'd lose by so much, kind of a wake up call, maybe if i knew it was a race and got to launch right without the vdc on, i might've taken him...BUT he got an even bigger head to add to his VW cockiness...I feel like i need to redeem myself, but the next time he runs into a G35 whos ready to run him, he'll get the wakeup call that our cars arent as slow as he thinks they are, okie im jus blabbering now...but yea, these GTI's arent slouches either

"I have a 2002 New Beetle w/ Audi TT engine in it. "
actually, it is the same 1.8T engine that is in every vw/audi car.
