extended warranty worth it for 06 g35c?

im being offerred the extended warranty for $2200 right now. the offer stays good until i hit 6k miles (i have 1300 miles now).

so basically in terms of mileage i have the full warranty still but in terms of time i only have 3.5 years left because i bought the car used.

$2200 will extend it to 100k miles and 7 years (6.5 years for me)

at first i didnt think it was worth it but ive been reading some threads and it seems like a lot of peoples windows are dying and some peoples drivers/passengers seats are dying (probably from loading/unloading too many passengers and thus having to use the motor a lot) etc.

so do you think its worth the $2200?

I definately think its well worth the extra money. If anything like that would go wrong with the car, you would pay out of pocket more than that.

If YOU plan on keeping the car that long, I would think so.
Personally I am only going to keep the car at most 3 years, so it will always be under the basic warranty.

I dont think that you have to purchase it when you purchase the vehicle. I think you can still purchase it while your original warranty is still in effect. Call your local Infiniti dealer, Im sure they can answer that one for you.

yeh i know that. but thanks. i can purchase the extended warranty pretty much whenever i want. but, if i purhcase it after
6k miles then it will only be extended to 75k
(theres more limitations but i forgot them)

but the later you buy the ex. war. the less you get..

anyway, i think im going to get it...

$2200 is a lot of money to pay for an Infiniti extended warranty. I only paid $1700 extra for a similar warranty from Porsche, and the maintenance expenses for a 996 are at least double that of a G. Also, don't make the mistake of reading posts on any forum and drawing conclusions. The sample size is incredibly small, and forums are a great place for people to share problems. Those with no problems aren't going to be motivated to post that they don't have problems.

Bottom line is that the odds are in your favor that you won't incur anywhere near $2200 in warranty claims in 7yrs/100K miles, but anything is possible. Personally I'd take my chances and pocket the $2200. Better yet invest the $2200 in some CD paying 6%, and in 7 years it will grow to around $3300.

If you plan on modding the car do NOT get the warrenty. If ur going to stay stock get it. What u going to do after u pay 2200 mod it and the dealer says u voided it? lol waste of 2200

Never pay for extended warranty. If it isn't broken, don't fix it. Take your $2000 and invest it. It will more than pay for repairs down the road if you keep your car that long. Don't forget to ditch the dealership once the warranty is over. Find a good mechanic. You will save 20% - 40% right there.

The warranty is transferrable. So even if you sell the car later it holds some value in resale to a private pary. You can also get a % of the cost back from Infinity if you sell it back early. I think its like .30 on the dollar. So its not a total loss if trade it in before 7 years. You can shop around to diffrent dealers to get the best price but this is your only oppertunity to add it into your payments. I got the 7 year "everything" warranty with a $50 deductable on my 05 G35x for around $1400. I was paranoid about all the little things that are $ to fix.

Get it if you are going to keep your car past the bumper-to-bumper period. Make sure you buy ONLY the Infiniti Warranty and not some off-brand one offered by some dealers. Infinti will be around and will honor their own warranty throughout the entire term while the off-brands may not.

You are getting ripped off for $2200. I got no deductable extended warranty for $1344 ( 7 years, 100k miles). Shop around through the net because any dealership can give you the extended warranty and it is good everywhere.

i think it would be worth it, but it seems a bit expensive to me, most warranty offers ive gotten have not been more than $1500 full coverage for me, shop around...
