i did not get it and i plan on keeping the G. one of the top reasons for me picking the G over other cars (bmw, sti,.. etc.) is because of the reliability. i expect it to go at least 10 years and around 200k miles

yeah, i'm hoping the G will last that long. It's not a good sign when there's rattles at 30k

Yeah, the engine may last that long, but what about everything else in the car? Tranny, diff, various electrical motors, etc.

About the cost, $2200 is way too high. I've had three different quotes for around $1500 for 7 yrs/100k, no deductible, and I can take it to any ASE certified mechanic I want - which is great considering the closest Infiniti dealership is over an hour away from me.

Why do you need to buy it now?

You can wait 4year, or 60k later to decide if you need it. If your car run without a glitch up to 4year, most likely, it'll be okay for a long time (its a japs).

If 3 years later and you found out that it's one of those rare "lemon", then you should buy it.

Remember that the g35 has a factory powertrain warranty of 6y/or 70k (better than z350).

The dealer convinced me to buy an ext. warranty. However, I canceled later and got most of my money back.

Its a insurance policy against future repairs..It's taking a bet if you will need non abused related MANFGR. defects...Pure Profit for the selling dealers..
some items are not covered, read fine print..

But, if you need peace of mind, while you sleep, please purchase the plan, but in reality most policys cost aproxx$ 595 to $1000- anything over is dealer markup/profit...

I have been employed by two toyota dealerships for 15 years....I have seen the tactics...toyota/infiniti/nissan all the same...Hell,, most of the MEGA SHOPS are multi-line w/ the same owner/principle...

Shop around and have other delears fight for your busness...Get competing offers...

Good luck
