05 coupe that I bought in April and I kept my OEM tires on throughout the winter.
Yeah, I had some VDC issues, but I just kept it slow and the DC area is good about their awareness of snow here, so I only saw my VDC when I pulled out of my driveway, cuz it wasnt treated properly like the hwys. I would just take it slow or if your nervous...most ppl just get some 18's and some winter tires and call it a day.

NEVER drive on snow with SUMMER tires. I had to realize this the hard way when I was going 20mph or so and couldn't stop... ended up rear ending a car in front of me. Summer tires aren't designed to run below temps of 30F anyway, let alone snow.

I used 235/45/18 and 255/45/18 LM-22's last winter and worked well. No issue with VDC. I think you will have some problems with VDC if you don't run staggered setup.

My car was on used 18 inches Blizzack last winter (got them from previous owner of the car)and didin't like how they performed here in Quebec, (Canada)

I will buy a set of 17 inches wheel + new winter tires, I saw posts last winter about people running on the same tires front and rear to be able to rotate them (get more durability from set) I would like to have comments on that.

I drove with staggered Blizzacks Lm22 first winter, then second winter I drove with bald yokohama es100s. with VDC on and zero stupidity you will be just fine.

I have a winter setup that consists of 4 17"rims with 225/55/17 hankook icebears. I have been driving with them for the last 2 winters and never got stuck once of had any vdc issues with them at all.

thanks captain obvious. its not that hard though. i used my t1-r's for the 5 days or so that it snowed in st louis last summer. obviously you're going to have to stop sooner on snow. i made it to and from work a few times, as well as a couple trips to friends houses and such. if you're smart, you'll be fine but i wouldnt recommend it.
