FARTING stock exhaust sound
My friends pointed out a disturbing sound in my exhaust [one even surmised that it might be leaking] recently. One of my exhausts has that consistent purring/revving sound while the other one stutters and farts as I rev the engine. Is this typical in all G35's? I've never owned a dual exhaust car, so I wouldn't know. I already brought it to the Infiniti service department and they said that nothing was wrong with the muffler. They didn't listen to the putt-putt sound but they just guessed that the sound is different because one tube may be longer than the other.

The putting sound that is similar to the one my exhaust makes happens towards the end of each rev in the clip. Any ideas/suggestions/consolations is appreciated!!

Nothing is wrong with your exhaust. It's just a "warble" of the exhaust...it's pretty hot, actually. My G35C does the same thing (along with every other G35C on the planet) when I rev to 3K or higher. Good luck and enjoy that warble!!!!!!!!!!

most people call it a "gurgling" sound
it's common.. you can pretti much eliminate it with a borla exhaust i believe..

thats normal-sounding... Ever hear any street bikes? I compare the gurgle to that [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img] its a good sound, dont worry.
By the way, the Borla exhaust does gurgle too, it sounds much deeper though [img]/w3timages/icons/wink.gif[/img]
