Anybode here have a table to decode (really, understand) the info in the VIN? Are there other body/paint/chassis numbers on the G35 Coupe?

17-digit code

1st: Manufacturing Country (J = Japan)
2nd: Car Manufacturer (N = Nissan)
3rd: Division (1 = Nissan, K = Infiniti)
4th - 8th: Features (body style, engine, safety equipment, chassis, etc.) - can't find Infiniti decoder for these at this time
9th : check digit
10th: Model Year (3 = 1973 or 2003, 4 = 1974 or 2004)
11th: Assembly Plant (M = Tochigi plant in Japan, I think)
12th - 17th: sequence/serial number

On the 4th - 8th digits, I've found some stuff relating to a 350Z:
4, engine type (A)
5, vehicle line (Z)
6, "model change number"??? (3)
7, body type (4 = coupe)
8, restraint system (D = driver&pass airbag, A = D + side airbags, E = D + side curtains)

Now, the positions may mean the same thing for the G35 sedan and coupe, and this would make sense.. my sedan has an "E" in the 8th spot. Looking at a local dealer's online inventory, all their sedan's match the start of my VIN: JNKCV51E, and the coupe's all have: JNKCV54E

This leads me to assume the following:
4: engine, (C = VQ35) - odd, you'd think they'd have different codes for the 260 v. 280hp versions
5: vehicle line, (V = G35)
6: ???
7: body type (1 = sedan, 4 = coupe)
8: restraint system (E = driver, passenger, front side and side curtain airbags)

This is what my VIN decoder book says:

1- Nation of origin- (J) Japan
2- Manufacturer- (N) Nissan Motor Company
3- Type- (K) passenger car, (R) SUV
4- Engine- (C) 3.5L v-6 G35
5,6- Line and Model- (V5) G35
7- Body Type- (1) 4 door sedan
8- Restraint system- (E) Driver, pass.,side curtain bags, 3 pt. belts, 2wd
9- Check digit
10- Model year (3) 2003
11- Assembly plant- (M)- Tochigi, Japan
12-16 Sequential production numbers

These numbers are for a 2003 G-35
