SUNFIRE battle(destruction)
So I'm lazily driving home this morning wen I come up upon a red light. Next to me is a RICED OUT Pontiac Sunfire. Yes. You heard me RICED out.. It had every mod you could think of on a ricer's car .. So I look to see who's driving.. A skinny white guy [No racialness intended to anyone] with tatoo's over his arms. I don't even stare him down or anything but I gess he takes offense. (I'm wearing a dress shirt and I'm Asian with a way nicer car. Maybe this ticked him off.) At the time I thought nothing of my glance at him, but on the green he decides to totally gun his car. I can hear his engine reving wen I'm below 3k rpm in 4th gear wen we approach. So I was kinda upset I tied to a sunfire in my gcoupe, but I proceeded to go into the left turn lane, into my neighborhood. He stops at the light, so against good natured thinking, I turn my car back into the lane right of him. On the green I only got a start at 1.3k rpm cuz it changed before I was stopped. This time I don't change until 4k rpm (my car isn't broken in yet) & I still hit 70, I cut him off 4 sec after takeoff and ended up at least 10 car lengths ahead before I turn into the next entry of my neighborhood.
I know that was long and boring but the moral of the story is: Why rice out you're Sunfire. The other moral of the story is, why gun it wen ur next to a gcoupe. The final moral of the story is I LOVE MY G.

Because it's All They Can AFFORD. Dude probally works at McDonalds or taco bell or something. Mom's probally gave him the car for Graduating High School. And he uses His Minimum wage check to Buy Accessories at Pep Boys or Kragens or Something........... Dude I'm SURE He'd Rather be Driving a G Also.........

my car still only has 210 miles on it, so i'm in break in. i don't plan on racing. but, my fear, if i do, is the start. it's a 6mt. i've never tried a really fast start. wouldn't know what to do.
although on a different note, took the kids apple picking yesterday. coming home, a couple of blocks from my house, as i turn left, waiting at the light is a BS coupe (didn't see if MT). me and the driver smiled at each other. my kids laughed.

If you're going to race your car on break in, atleast do it against a car you won't feel like a dick about. Imagine SOMETHING goes wrong and your engine implodes?

lol, maybe it that was it. I hope I don't sense bitterness in that comment. I still don't throw hateful looks to other drivers unless they did something to me anyway, like he was doing to me.
Btw, I highly doubt my engine would implode if I was shifting normally under 4k rpm the entire time.. with 400 or so miles .. I would definitely look into a new car.

I'd say the best way to launch would be hold the RPM at 3000 and slowly release the clutch as you apply more throttle, to never let the revs go below 3500-4000, and to try to keep the tires on the limit of grip, without breaking it.... it takes practice for sure. My MR2 is really hard because the R-Compounds break un-expectedly depending on how hot they are, and the turbo spools it really kicks the tires loose..
