hows the premium bose system sound?
Re: hows the premium bose system sound?
I agree with you on that. The Bose in my '91 Maxima SE was awesome, with only 4 speakers. When I got the coupe, I expected it to be at least the same. It doesn't sound like anything near what my Max had. I'm disappointed, but I can live with it.

The sedan sounds alot better than the coupe.
No problems with mine at all. The first 3,000 miles I was a little questionable, but it seems like the more I drive it the better the bass and sound gets.

Re: hows the premium bose system sound?
c'mon guys don't compare stock bose to aftermarket ones(i.e pioneer, kenwook etc)... it's not the best one out there but it sounds much better than other cars...you didn't buy ur g to listen to music did u? if answer is yes, then you bought the wrong car... it's good enough for daily driving... oh yeah and one lasting, premium package !=(not equal to) bose system only...if i remember correctly, premium package is included bose, sunroof, homelink, auto on off headlamps, dualzone temp control, auto dimming inside mirror... now that's for $2250... and bose is just part of bundle not bose system costs 2250 by itself and it's common sense that it's cheaper to buy bundle than buy one item by itself... i bet if you buy ur g piece by piece, it will cost more than 100k... where did you come up with it's not best for the buck?? is there anyone who got bose system instead of premium package? if there is, sorry you got ripped off... however if you got premium package, you got good deal on them...
Re: hows the premium bose system sound?
I ordered the premium package for the auto-dimming rearview mirror with homelink (and power so I could hardwire my V1 to it) not because the stereo would sound better ( I was going to get the sunroof either way).
In my coupe the Bose is "OK".
Some cars you sit in and listen to the stereo and you know right away, "WOW this sounds incredible, crisp highs and tight bass and clear vocals - close your eyes and you're at the concert" The G35C's premium bose is NOT this case. The bass in my car is soft (vs tight - thu..,thu..,thu.. instead of thud, thud, thud), indeed the sedan with a separate sub must sound better.
As far as other oem stereo's sounding better, my wife drives a 2002 Jeep Liberty and her stereo sounds at least as good if not better.
For me the sound is adequate, not bad enough to hassel with the $$ and time to change and not good enough to brag about! , but that's fine because with a G35C there's plenty else to praise!

Re: hows the premium bose system sound?
Ahh-- my sedan sound is perfect. Coupe, I don't know...
I've always found there are two different kinds of "quality" that people perceive when they listen to a stereo. 1) The nice balance and crisp treble countered with absolutely accurate bass, 2) Thump. The first group is the acousticians, the second group is those who don't like "real music", but rather like to rattle their cars with a certain kind of music and wouldn't care if they heard a violin ever again in their life.
Not bashing group 2-- I belong to it as well, BUT I'm also a musician at heart, so hearing the intricacies of a song through setup 1 is just as good for me. The sedan's good for groups 1 and 2, since it has a nice bass boost, but I'm not 100% sure about the coupe's.

Re: hows the premium bose system sound?
I agree, the $60 tweeter upgrade does wonders.. And again it shows why the Bose system isnt really all that hot compared to other factory systems. They used a seriously cheap clarion tweeter, heck its not even Bose speaker..
I'm not a big fan of SCV anyway. Why EQ changes as well as volume I really dont know.. SCV high sounds best but is totally annoying with drastic volume changes.. SCV low sound dull and muted at most volumes. I listen to many genres of music... and the coupe does ok.. Not great but ok.. Not sure I ever even listened to the stereo on the test drive
and technically, it doesnt really matter that much to the coupe.

Re: hows the premium bose system sound?
Can someone please explain what SCV is?
Just got my coupe a couple of weeks ago. The Bose is okay.. but I figure I spent 40 grand on a car, I should make sure it rocks. Planning an upgrade now..

Re: hows the premium bose system sound?
hit audio (where you'd change treble/bass). Speed sensitive volume is set to low.. Set it to high or mid and you'll get more bass and treble. Opens up the sound considerably.. But can also be annoying when driving with the windows down. Volume will be all over the place. SCV Mid is a nice compromise.

Re: hows the premium bose system sound?
I am completely fine with the Bose myself. I will probably change out the tweeter since that's the only part of the system that I was a bit disappointed with but mids are awesome and bass is more than enough from me from the dual woofers.
Re: hows the premium bose system sound?
It sounds okay and it sounds better than the Acura Cl-S Bose system I previously had. I had a Maxima before that and it sounded pretty good there. I am not a big aftermarket audio guy because I don't spend enough time in the car to enjoy it.
My understanding of SCV is it will adjust the volume to the speed of your car. The most aggressive setting is high and it will turn the volume up the faster you go. Medium or off seems to be best. I have not noticed any change in the sound quality at all.
Now, what is this tweeter upgrade you speak of for $60?
