20" wheels...What's the max tire size and offset for NO RUBBING?
I want to get some 20s for my girl's G but need to know the max offset and tire size without any rubbing. I dont want to mess with the fenders. Thanks.
Yeah I know! I think I do that a lot. Just following admin instructions not to make new threads when others exist with the same question! Thanks for the bump, though! And I know this is a coupe thread and I'm sorry, so don't flame me for that, bro!
While I have your attention, though. This is what my issue is. I want to make my overall diameter equal to stock for the 04 sedan. The stock 215/55 17's are 26.311" tall. I have 235/50 18's on the 03 track 18's from the Z. Those tires are 27.25" tall. I think they are the track version. I get rubbing. I would like to avoid rolling the fenders if I don't have to. I wanna lower, though. Not a huge drop, just modest. I was thinking of buying this guy's Tockico shocks. I already have the D-specs. I'm wondering if I'd get rubbing with 235/45 18's. That'd be stock tire diameter. If that would rub, I could go down to 235/40 18's. They're cheaper than the 235/45's anyway. And I doubt they'd rub. But the speedometer and odometer would be off. Do most folks not really even care about that? It bugs me.
I've also been thinking about getting some wheels that are 18X8 with 40 offset. They might clear the fenders totally. I don't know if I'd be happy with the tires sunk in a whole centimeter from where the z wheels are, though. I wish I could see a sedan with 18X8's with 40 mm offset. If they looked good and were nearly flush with the fender but would clear the fender with the stock tire height of 26.311 inches, that might just make my day.
