I have had my Injen CAI since October of 2005 and hydrolocking is always on my mind when it rains but I don't drive my car like a moron through puddles like I have a SUV... The sound Injen long tube CAI makes is unmatched......

How ? I got the Injen CAI & I want to buy a AEM bypass valve but they only come in 3" and the Injen pipe I beleive is 3.5" .

I think I could probably stretch it out by heating it up or do you have any better ideas ?

I've had my Injen CAI on my car since Feb '05. I did not have to modify my bypass valve in any way. I used the 3" AEM bypass valve. I know Injen revised the intake since I got mine, but I don't think changed it that much... The pipe gets bigger AFTER the bypass valve, where the filter is, its 3.5" but before that its only 3"

Also FYI, the bypass valve comes in 4 sizes, 2.25", 2.5", 2.75" and 3"

I'll take one for the team - return the Injen and buy yourself a Stillen HFA. Let the flames begin...

Seriously though, having a traditional long-tube low-hanging intake like the Injen/AEM/Nismo is just asking for problems, IMO. Yeah if you're careful and you install the bypass valve you're much less likely to have a problem. But when repeated dyno tests on this board have shown neglible difference between the Stillen and Injen set-ups, with regard to both sound and power gain/loss, I can't see why you'd take a chance on the CAI. My neighborhood flooded during Ernesto and I had no choice but to drive my coupe to get out. The water was probably at the license plate (car's not lowered) and by taking it REAL slow I made it through just fine. In those same conditions your CAI would be completely submerged.

To me its just a safer bet to go with the Stillen. But if you don't live near the coast and don't have a lot of rain, I'm sure the Injen works out just fine.

I ended up selling my Injen and went with the z-tube and Stillen. Sounds amazing and can def. feel the power gain.
