Question I Love My G35, But...

I really love my g35 but to be 100% honest, i am even more in love with e46 m3's. I searched and found a few for around 30K 02's and 03's. I got my g35 a few months ago and of course i owe most of the cars price tag. I was just wondering what you guys think i can do about this. What are my options, sell it? and pay off what i owe and get into a used m3? I also have heard about situations where you can take your present car even if you owe money on it and they will buy it off you and get you into the car you want. Again, i really do like my G and maybe this is jus a temporary thing, but after getting in my friends m3 and taking it for a ride...it's got me thinking..

02-03 M3 are known to have a few problems, you want the 04 and later.

if you can afford, by all means, go for it.

But u do realize you will lost some money on the trade. Don't get me wrong, the M3 is a great car.... I was gonna trade my G35 coupe Plus $10k in cash. with a guy's M3 that had 28k miles, and it's a 02 SMG. he was selling it for 38k.

M3's are nice but cost an arm, leg, left nut to own & maintain when compared to a G35....just my 2 cent

Coming from am 02 M3 it's an awsome car, but get ready for $150 oil changes and thats if you do it yourself . They use "special" oil that you can only buy from BMW 5w-60 is the weight if my memory serves me correct. A few things I didn't like too much about my M was the raspiness of the exhaust and over all the car felt over weight. Also as far as modding $$$$$$ compared to our G's. If you got the $$ then go for it, overall it's an awsome ride.

nice post ^, i to love M3's an use to own an E36 M3 but i must say BMW stock exhaust are overrated people talk about how nice the m3 sounds but truth is all BMW's hardly even have an exhaust note maybe an aftermarket exhaust like Remus or Dinan but most bmw's hardly even have an exhaust note. Anyways get ready for ****ty reliability and a lot of $$$ on brake pads and oil changes other then that one of the best cars on the road.

i think if you're gonna buy a car like the m3, it has to be brand new or slightly used, and the latest model.

i gurantee you'll want the newer model next year if you do make the switch.

yes a 2002 m3 has more power and still a better interior, but its still a 2002. your 06 (or 05) g35 is the better car.

thank you all for ur replies, and yes money is an issue so it will be difficult to make the transition. I also have heard what was said by some of you guys, that the 02 and 03's have more problems and 04's+ are gonna cost me even more. I do love the G but also my financing is for 5 more years which doesnt make me too happy, at the same time it was the only wat to afford it, with lower monthly payments. I would love to own an M3 but it might just be too much for a a kid thats only 20, in his 3rd year of college n working a full time job lol. Maybe in 5 years when im done paying for the G, ill see what i do.

Thanks again.

But they will take the difference and roll them into your new contract!, I would take 06 G35 over 02~04 M3 anyday!
