Rear bumper sensors for g35?

I am currently visiting relatives in Korea. I will be heading back to the states in less then 2 weeks. My grandpa just bought a little Kia about 2 weeks ago.

His eyes are not that good so he installed rear bumper sensors. The sensors on the outside look the same as you would see on Mercedes Benz S500s (Little circles a few inches wide). It was a cheap "modification" and now I am seriously considering getting it for my car.

Does anyone know if you can get this "mod" back in the states? It really helps when backing into a parking spot, or parallel parking. I think it would really help when I go to car meets since everyone likes backing into spots or when I am parking at night. We all know how difficult parking can be sometimes with our car.

What do you guys think? Should I get it? It might not be aesthetically pleasing, but I think it would really help. A small scratch or dent can easily cost a coupe hundred bucks.

I'm pretty sure if I bought some extra ones, I could definately make some money off them if I sold them in the states if this mod is not available.

I'm not sure how difficult install would be, but I doubt it would be hard.

If anyone is interested also, then please make a list. I'll try to get a few and if there are any questions, send them to me and I will ask the shop. I've never tried this "mod" either so I guess it's a gamble, but I'm pretty sure it would work. I'm also not sure about pricing either, but if I sell a few then I will definately need to make some profit b/c I'm sure this item would be hot.

I think rear view back-up camera is much better but a little more expensive.

I had theses im my navigator, they work good, but u need to pay close attention to the beeping, if you rely only on the beeping, you will back into some1 like i did

That's true. It's never a good idea to fully depend on something.

A rear-view camera would be much better but for those without navigation (like me) or just looking for a cheaper solution in a whole, this is one good idea.

I haven't found the pricing yet, but I know for sure it's cheaper then a rear view camera.

I love the gadgets that Korea and Japan has to offer.. can't wait to go back so I can get some neat goodies.

These sensors are definately available for purchase online in the US...but buying from Korea is probably more cost effective. I did a quick search online and I saw ones for around $110. There was a cool one that displays LED's to your review mirror wirelessly, along with audiable alerts. Dunno how much that one costs though. I say you can definately make some profit in the US because they are not very common as aftermarket as of yet.

I have some huge ones in my ford f150. Not really going to help for double parking. If you rely on the beeping sound you'll do either stop too early or stop too late. The backup cam on my G works better.
