To IP Owners...and others with an oppinion
Still totally baffled by the LUST for IP?
Don't get me totally wrong, I don't want to be a sour @ss or a put down.
I know everyone has their own .02's, but this seems to win over the mass majority of G owners.
The color is nice (for white). I've never liked white, b/c of the dirt factor and I know some say it doesn't show dirt much. I've never liked white for the "Male/Female" factor. It just seems like if it's a white car in general, it's a woman driving it, so I guess I relate the color and gender as one?
The pearl of the color is nice, but it's not prominent. At the car show in Atlanta this past May or whenever I went, I had to practically get two inches from the paint to even tell their was a "pearl" factor. At a dealership, of course with the natural sunlight I could see it better, but not by much. It didn't show when one was driving down the road let's say.
Anyways, of course I am biased about SILVER b/c I own one. But before I owned a G I thought I was going to get white, that was until I saw Silver for the first time in person, hence my profile name vs. what I actually drive. The Brilliant Silver to me actually has a slight 'pearl' or iridescence. Of course it's not a true pearl and many would argue against me on that statement, but I see enough in the color other than FLAT silver that I feel in love with it. Maybe describe it as reflective 'chips' deep in the paint? Probably most of our G colors have that, but the IP has that mixed pearl to it...
Anyways, the Black on the outside of the car against Silver did it for me. I was hooked from then on out.
Again, just my .02 and I don't want to put down the IP's, b/c I do think a Coupe looks FANTASTIC no matter what color! (But am curious as to the lure of IP to everyone!?!?!?).
Thanks for listening and sorry if I sort of High Jacked this post guys.
Putting on flame suite, give me a minute and I'll be ready...

what about ivory pearl with clear corners? I've searched for an IP coupe with the clear corners to see how it would look but i'm worried it'll just make my g look cheaper....
anyone got pics? 06 if possible.

i think black interior makes IP more sporty and its nice to look at... however, after awhile, it gets "boring". i mean, black interior has no contrasts..just plain black which i think would have made me bored at the interior after a period of time.
on the other hand (i have tan interior) i like how the tan interior has two ton colors in it. it makes IP coupe more elegant and luxury..and makes it feel more spacious too, but not as sporty as black interior.
oh and u'll hate black interior when its 100 degrees outside.
just my take on the interior colors..sorry sortta off topic.

The pearl in IP is very noticeable, if the sun is out. Flatter whites simply don't gleam and glow the way the IP does. Never been a fan of flat white (Or Alpine) as it tends to look cheap.
IMO, the pearl and metallic paints offered on a car are generally going to look the nicest of the options. Fortunately, most of Infiniti's colors are pretty dazzling.
I think the IP is popular partially because the coupe looks great in white, but mainly because of the glow it has when clean. Remember the scene in Pulp Fiction where Travolta opens the case? That's IP at sunset.
During the day, the glow is brilliant white.
It probably photographs the worst of all the color options, but it really shines on the streets.
