Hey,
I just bought a '03 coupe and the damn passenger side window was stuck in the down position. I obviously couldn’t leave it like this.
Toronto has weird weather and the dealer couldn’t take the car till Monday afternoon. I had some experience with power windows on G.M cars and figured the infinity couldn’t be that much different. In about an hour I was able to roll the window all the way up till the dealer could see it.

1) I took the door panel off using the guide found on the forum’s ( Thanks )
2) I took the 15-20 10mm bolts off the door panel
3) Once you could see the door motor I removed the 3 Philips (star head ) screws attaching the drive unit to the motor.
4) When I had these screws off I was left with the wind up mechanism, next I inserted a 3/8” drive socket into the window drive assembly
5) I gave the ratchet a few cranks, thus raising the window and presto the window raised.

Hope this helps the next guy faced with this situation!

nice. but as mentioned before, if you hold the up button and slam the door, that usually works. So far ive had my passenger side replaced once, and my driver side replaced once. As of now, my passenger side is starting to fail. 3 window motors will eventually need to be replaced. I mean seriously, wtf......

Wow thats unreal. I think that there should be a recall on these motors, obviously there is some serious issues with them. Has anyone NOT had one of these motors go?

Also I dont understand how the slamming the door with the up button jammed in the up position will start the motor. I took the motor apart yesterday and its a small DC motor, the problem with it was that the brush was completely worn out. Since the brush is worn out that motor will never spin even if you drive a truck into that door while holding the up button up

since this thread is still going ill add to it...

i was driving home from my trip to oakland infiniti (about an hour drive in trafic) and i realized my window still wasnt rolling up. I was too close to being home to turn around, so i said *** it. Called my service manager and asked him if they somhow forgot to replace the motor?? He told me no the techs replaced the passengers side window motor.. Then i explained to him that its my drivers side that was acting up.

Anyways im headed back out there this week to get 2 new headlamps and a new drivers side window motor. peace

LOL . . . Dang, you would think that they would have checked both sides just for the heck of it. I hope they get it right this next time around. Good luck!

Does anyone know if the motors they are replacing our defective units with are improved? I had to have my drivers window motor replaced awhile back too and hope it doesn't recur once I'm out of warranty.

well..im going to add my self to the list as well...just this morning on the way to work my motor failed as well...my window is stuck in the up position and i cant get it down. Im going to try and bang on the door like my mechanic told me and see if that works. If not, then its a good thing i got an appointment setup today to get it fixed.

I have an 05' and my motor is going at the moment. sucks. I parallel parked at a fancy restaurant and there were people outside the restaurant on the patio. i try to put up the window and nothing. I said to myself "**** this is going to be embarassing" i punch the door panel couple times....hit the switch...nothing. turn the car on/off....nothing finally by some luck i opened the passenger door from my driver seat and flipped the switch up while the door was open which worked. Still embarassing though
