Hey guys I recently purchased an 06 Laser Red coupe. I have 3 choices for tint:

1) 5% all around
2) 5% back, 15% fronts
3) 15% all around

I really want the 5%, but the shop doesn't recommend 5% because they said its a hazard for driving at night. They said it's hard to see out the side mirrors. So maybe I could do 5% rear 15% sides? or should I be safe and do 15% all around. Really leaning towards the 5%, but also don't want to be blind at night so what would be my best choice? Any personal experiences w/ 5% tint? If anyone has 5/15% tint if they could post some photo that would be greatly appreciated.

whatever you do, get them same shade all around, they come out way better that way. I'd go with 15% all around. During the day its not quite as dark as 5%. At night, it's hard to tell between 5% or 15% because without sunlight both will look very dark.

 

5% will be difficult to se out of at night, I have 15% on the sides and 5% on the rear and have no problems, not easy to see inside, you pretty much have to press your face up against the glass to see in

 

ull get used to the 5% eventually so thats not too big a deal but i would do 15 in the front and 5 in the back........i just got my tints done yday on my laser red coupe with 15% all around but thats cuz i didnt want my tints too dark....u seem to want ur tints dark but i think 5% all around would be too dark so 5 in the back and 15 in the front woudl be perfect for you

 

I have 35% on mine + OEM slightly tinted windows make it 29% which I see is around the perfect range and legal. Plus it looks really nice. I never like dark tint.

 

i got mine with 10% all around and lemme just tell you it looks freakin awesome. it is a bit hard to see at in low lit areas like my condominiums parking lot so i have to roll the windows down to make sure i dont hit someone, it also sucks trying to see through the rearview mirror cuz you cant really tell who's behind you all you see is the lights (sucks if ur on the look out for the po-po's). It does make the LR coupe look really nice especially if u get one type all around to make it look even. I'll post some camera phone pictures so you can see how it looks.

 

5% all around........you will regret getting anything else

 

i got a 04 laser red also , i have 20% at night no1 can see in..but int he daytime they can only see a shadow of my face

 

I have 5% on one car thats silver.. it looks good! On my black G I got 30% hugo optic... Im also in my mid 30s so the dark dark tint is not something I would do today (got the 5% done a few years ago). You do adjust to it and agreed.. in dark intersections and such you do have to be a bit careful of someone on a bike or walking... especially during the winter when its cold and you just seem not to pay attention or to look for stuff like this as much.

i have an 04 laser red and i had 5% installed all around. I have really bad tunnel vision at night and i can barely see anything aside from whats outside my windshield, but usually thats all i need. i have no regrets and it looks sick different shades look silly and if the tint shop wants to make recommendations they should say no to anything on your side windows because afterall it is illegal.

Hes absolutely right haha i like how every post truplay says do it or ull regret it I.E. Get stick over auto haha. Hes right though i got 5% done its something you should get if you have a gf =D. Its difficult to see but you get used to it. If you live in an area where theres a lot of rain / bad weather get 15% or you truly will regret it because you cant roll down your windows which is a big concept of seing behind you with 5%

 

ya get 5% i got 25 my first time and it was not dark enough so i had them rip it off and give me 5%

 

yea i never herd of 15%... i have 20 all the way round and at nite that shyt is mad hard to see out of..

 

Yea I live in Seattle so it's going to rain alot and wont be sunny all the time so I think 15% would be best for me.
