What you guys think about the MazdaSpeed 3?
Hello all,
The itch of driving stick is haunting on me once again. Still looking to make a more lateral move and not have to shell out much for another car. What you guys think about MazdaSpeed 3? I know it's fwd but they implemented a new system to eliminate most of the torque steer. The turbo engines got 263 horses and does 0-60 MT in 5.8 secs. Not bad and still gets good mileage. 12.6 inch brake upgrade from current model and stiffer suspension and 18 inch wheels. Current mazda3 already pulls a .88g on the skidpad. The speed3 probably pulls a .90g. What you guys think? The new G is tempting obviously but don't have the money for it now and thinking of going back to economy car now that I've own a luxury car already. Then again I am just thinking...this M/T craving happens from time to time... The price of speed3 goes for around 23k base and my guess is my car is worth 24k or something in that range.

It's coming out in a couple months...the October issue of Motor Trend already reviewed it. Unlike the speed6 (awd), speed 3 is (fwd).

SRT's interior/exterior is a piece of crap (at least in my opinion).
Mazda cars are made to be driven (driver's car), almost like a cheaper form of bmw. They are well tuned with great balance chasis (miata has the 50/50 balance like the bmws) and meant to be driven. Obviously it's no big engines like the g35's and exhaust note is no where near it...haha. However, the mazda gears are almost as silky smooth as hondas, at least the miata and rx8 that I've driven before, the gears were silky smooth. The gears are much smoother than my friend's 350z. Nissan/Infinti gears a little more notchy.
Obviously if I have the money it's a no brainer for an Infiniti upgrade...

Your G is only a couple of years old? why get rid of it?
I realize that there are many factors that play into wanting a more economical car, and the budget constraints. But, if the MT bug hits, I would say go out and rent a car (manual of course), like a corvette/porsche/your choice, drive the hell out of it for a day or two, and once it's out of your system...IT'S ALLLLLLLLLLLL GOOD.
