Thumbs up 2008 coupe info

I was at the dealer the other day and my client that works for Infiniti told me great news. He said that an Infiniti representative was in the previous day and stated that the 2008 G35 coupe WILL be available in a hard top convertable.

My dealer told me they would have octo-exhaust...

Im pretty sure 99% of the time they dont know crap

Put it this way... a sales person at Glendale Infiniti didnt even know that the G35 used the same engine as the 3.5 litter altima.

He said "how can you say that the G35 has the same engine as the Nissan Altima 3.5 when the G35 has 298 horsepower!?!"

Yeah, I totally agree. How about this one...

At one of our last FGC meets, there was a "Infiniti engineer" that told us the new G would be powered by a 3.7L. Too bad it's still a 3.5L. Now I will never trust an "Infiniti engineer" again.

My guy is the top sales person at the #1 Infinti dealer in Missouri and is very knowledgeable. He has been with this dealership a long time. He is also a friend, so I have no reason to think he is feeding me b.s. Only time will tell.

When I first bought mine in 2004 my dealer told me that Infiniti was looking into a hard top convertable for the 2007/2008, but how come no prototype yet?

The convertible has been rumoured for sometime now. Who knows if it will make it or not. Same with 3.7L V6 for the coupe. Its well known that Nissan has trademarked the G37 name.

but why would theygive the sedan a 3.5 and the coupe a 3.7? but it would be cool to see a hard top convertible, but the price would be really high for it.

It is a fact that infiniti did officially register the names "G37" and "M37" so that guy was onto something maybe not for the 2008 models but most likely there will be a 3.7L engine coming up sometime in the future.
