My Akita is 3 years old...I have a 100% pure japanese Akita, which are not as big as the American Akitas, or the ones we are used to seeing. Can you the difference with the eyes and ears? They don't have as much bone, and aren't heavy set. Also, the japanese ones don't have black masks like that. I used to have an American Akita when I was younger, looks almost exactly yours haha...pretty damn big.

Thanks she is a great dog. So playful and loyal. Sorry to hear about your dog though, I cant imagine the feeling.

You'll be fine and so will the dog! My EX GF had a 155 lb great dane and he was happy as can be to ride in the back of her celica! He sat, like a human, on the back seat right in the middle.

Yeah, Brandy (our first boxer) was with us when I was ages 9-19. So I was quite upset. I'm just glad I was there to see her go, instead of being 120 miles away at school.

My Dad has 2 Harley Road Kings, so I named our new boxer accordingly...Harley. He's a big goofy dog that doesn't know his own size. And even though I am only at my parent's house maybe 5 days out of the month, he is by my side every moment I am home.
