Another option would be 3M clearbra tape on the lower edge of the trunklid. Run the edge just along the character line (the portion that bends in slightly) it will be virtually invisible.
Use your fingers just under the lid to lift, and you can get just enough leverage to close it with your fingertips on the top of the tape.
I use it on both door edges also. You can close the door with the edge, and also gives some protection if you accidently strike something when opening the door.
