Sorry to tell you, but nope, no warranty on the clutch. But hey, if they said they will replace your clutch, then I would take an advantage of that.

Unless you got it in writing, good luck proving anything

+1 get it in writing first before you start burning clutch away.

warranty protects you from manufacturer defects under normal use... not stup1d owner abuse. but burn away. i hear clutch discs and slave cylinders are cheap.

The problem here is that they have to look at it first and decide if it's abuse or not. After they open it and decide it's not covered then your fvck coz they will charge you mercilessly but if it's really a malfunction or defect then they will cover it. So you're basically up on the dealers mercy, if you have good relationship with them and they are not an A$$ you'll get away with new clutch but if they are a Stealership then they'll make you bend over and

What about throw-out bearings? My car is in the service dept today to have that looked at because I'm getting a horrendous rattling at around 3k rpms. I understand if the plates are worn being a wear and tear issue. However, if the throw-out bearing is what has gone, wouldn't that be a defect? In addition, almost all 6MTs are plauged by the loud clutch chatter mainly from the design of the throw-out bearing anyways. What worries me though is that a lot of people have gone in for notchy gear shifting or excessive clutch chattering and ended up with totally new transmissions. I don't think I could ever trust a dealership to install something as complicated as a full transmission. =\
