I just want to draw the conclusion that the SE-R will NOT beat the g35 coupe. Unless its modded and racing a stock G...stock for stock the G35 coupe is faster...

The SE-R is not faster than our cars.....If that car is beating you than your car must be retarded. The SE-R only has 260 HP and might be 120 pounds light than our car. So by no means should it be faster.......
You said it right

1+ to that

no 1/4 mile, the se-r will not beat, simply losing because of the launch.

I know someone who has both altima 3.5 and 06 G35 coupe. He states the G35 is obviously faster.

Our cars are fast... but they are not fast enough to be in the higher catagories of M3's, STI's, EVO's, and many other really fast performance cars.

How many cars do you see on the road every day that beat the G on the 1/4 or on the track??
Not very many.

You can't be serious. Even excluding exotics which I don't see on the road every day, here's a partial list off the top of my head in alphabetical order: Audi S4, S6, S8; BMW M3, M5, M6, Z4M, 335, 750; Cadillac CTS-V, STS-V, XLR-V; any C5, C6 Vette; Dodge Magnum, Viper; Honda S2000; Jaguar XJR, XK series; Lexus GS 450, IS 350; any MB AMG iteration, C350, S600, SL 550; Pontiac GTO; any 993, 996 or 997 Porsche, and Boxster S. Of course there are many others that I've neglected, but these are the ones that come to mind without research.

You must live in a very wealthy town to see all those cars everyday in my opinion. How many vipers do you see day? how many s600 you see a day? You will be lucky if you see one of those a week.....I guess im saying that you usually do not see these cars EVERYDAY here...also you have to take into consideration that none of those cars that you listed are in the same class as the g35 all of them except the porsche have v-8 engines or bigger.

I didn't take your statement literally. I took it to mean on a regular basis, and to me that means a couple of times a week. I do live in an upscale community and many of the homeowners have performance cars. One of my neighbors owns a Viper and another a Ferrari F430. I see the Viper on the road regularly, but I believe the Ferrari is a garage queen.

Keep in mind that the vast majority of vehicles on the road are not performance oriented. So if it makes you feel better comparing the G to Chevy Cavaliers or VW Jettas, then by all means go for it. I think most of us however compare our cars to other performance cars.

I dont believe anywhere in my statement did i say anything about comparing our cars to cavaliers and jettas.....dont know where you got this from? Our car is a performance car, but it is not in the same class as a viper or ferrari and should not even be compared with one.....should it?

The kid before me was simply stating that if you compared our cars to DAILY DRIVEN cars that you see EVERYDAY on the road we are faster than about 80% of them.....correct? If you go into the super car catagory then yes our car is slow and does not even compare with them, but we are not comparing our cars to extremely high performance cars....we are simply comparing them to daily drivers....

I presume that Cavaliers and VWs are the type of cars that you may see every day. So what kind of cars do you see every day that you are comparing to the G35?

Well if you want to actually race a cavaliers and jettas then sure they are always fun to beat. I was thinking more along the lines of mustangs, cameros, firebirds, trans ams, bmw 3 series, bmw 645, audi a4, a6...VW GTI's, acuras.....those are cars i would consider daily drivers that you see almost everywhere and you can compare our cars with...

OK. Of the ones you've listed the G35 is competitive. I believe that you would have your hands full with the 645, but the G is competitive.

BTW I am eagerly anticipating the arrival of the '08 G coupe. Let's hope that it will be at least as fast as the 335i.
